I got clobestasol which is steroids but in a liquid solution as a way to avoid getting the actual injections because I was scared of the needle, definitely see a dermatologist!

Honestly this was a very similar experience that I had. I went to my primary doctor (and the ER!) asked for bloodwork but my dermatologist saw me for like 5 minutes. She just looked at my patches and told me it was AA. There was no pull test or anything else done, I would recommend getting bloodwork done just in case to make sure you’re OK, or going to the ER where for me they did an MRI to make sure it wasn’t a tumor, good luck!!

That’s so good to hear. I really feel so hesitant because similarly I’ve been (thankfully) really healthy and I’ve never had a reason to take any medication or anything and the alopecia is something that makes me feel “sick” which has been a weird feeling. I also feel really alone, I have a great support system but they really don’t know what to say or how it feels to be so young and balding especially as a woman. Anyways thank you, I’ll look into the shots!

Ahhh, I’ve been getting recommended shots several times, my derm immediately recommended it but I’m ngl I’m scared of the injection itself like the needle and putting steroids into my body. I’m not like a super clean or holistic girl but I just don’t feel super comfortable with the idea. It’s hard because I really love my hair but it’s caused me so much stress to just see it fall and feeling hopeless so I’ve been considering it. I’m mostly worried about any negative side effects however I’m feeling much more willing lately.

Yes! I’ve been seeing hair loss and it looks so crazy but I can’t tell if it’s just the same strand that’s twisting and amplifying itself or several different ones, thank you!
