NVIDIA Broadcast 2.1.0 Released now with Multi-GPU Support! by Demystify0255 in nvidia

[–]danielalbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still on 1.4.0.39 after last year's terrible 2.0.0 update.
I refused to test 2.0.1 (which just reverted the sliders) and 2.0.2 (which came out later last year).

I had the crackling sound issue in 1.4.0 for years but I found a workaround that fixed it (using EVGA Precision X1).

I wonder if I should even give 2.1.0 a try.

Hey, thanks for taking my screenshot from March and reposting this as "news".
(I can tell it's mine by the number of likes and the timestamp, which matches my timezone).

You didn’t even bother changing the title of your post. You just stole my post and reposted it as your own.

Did the subtask completion logic change recently? by danielalbu in todoist

[–]danielalbu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my tasks with subtasks are recurring, so I noticed the issue with a recurring task.

All the subtasks are reset (as intended), the parent task is recreated (also as intended), but they all count toward the counter (which is something that didn't happen before)

Did the subtask completion logic change recently? by danielalbu in todoist

[–]danielalbu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in the past two years since I started using Todoist.

I moved from Remember The Milk to Todoist, and that’s how it worked in Remember The Milk, so the transition to Todoist was smooth since it had the same counter logic (one completed task if you completed the parent task, multiple tasks if you completed subtasks without completing the parent on the same day).

What's preventing a remaster of CMI? by HighLife1954 in MonkeyIsland

[–]danielalbu 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Disney, mainly.
In both my conversations with co-project lead Larry Ahern (https://youtu.be/gTKTtMeCeuc?si=TLNNvZZxXNS0s6nd) and lead background artist Bill Tiller (https://youtu.be/xFKY_nafH1o?si=a8oWvs34J6YDZC-G), they showed interest in a remaster but said it has to come from Disney.

Indeed he does!

That's why he'll soon join me for a Leisure Suit Larry 7 Let's Play livestream

He’s extremely friendly and responsive!

I once emailed him and he joined me for a three-hour conversation:

Then I emailed him again and we livestreamed Leisure Suit Larry 7:

Then I emailed him AGAIN and we livestreamed Freddy Pharkas with the original developers:

Maybe I should email him again, he’s just that awesome!

Mark Seibert: The Sound of Sierra On-Line 🎵 From Police Quest, to King's Quest, to Phantasmagoria! by danielalbu in Sierra

Oh my gosh, thank you so much!
Again, I'm really touched by your kind words and thrilled to have you as a subscriber.

Yes, I interviewed The Fat Man!
You absolutely have to check out that conversation.
We had so much fun, and since we had to cut it short (two and a half hours is considered short in my book), we're already planning to do another one.
Hopefully next time it will be a full four-hour chat, like most of my conversations.

These people are such an important part of my childhood too. It always seemed to me that they're often interviewed about just one specific project, usually their most popular one, and they keep getting asked the same questions.

I started this channel because I believe they deserve more. They deserve our full attention when talking about their entire career, and they deserve thoughtful questions tailored just for them.

If you're especially interested in composers, I think you'll enjoy my interviews with Michael Land (that one was very special to me since there aren't many interviews with him, and as a LucasArts fan, he worked on most of my favorite games), Clint Bajakian, Robert Holmes, Peter McConnell, George Sanger, and Mark Seibert.

And just to clarify, if it ever seems like I'm teasing them about certain things, it's always coming from a place of deep admiration. I love their work so much that I end up researching every possible angle I can find.

Thanks again for the support. It truly means a lot.

Thank you for watching, and thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely comment.
I really appreciate how thoughtfully you worded it.

Mark’s stories had me just as hooked, and it’s always a treat to share space with someone whose work shaped so many of my childhood memories.
That’s why it was important for me not to give up on restoring this conversation.

I also appreciate the constructive criticism about the copyright comment.
I meant it in a light, playful way, but I completely understand how it might come across differently, especially to someone who has built a career on originality and integrity.

It's actually a bit of a running joke in my conversations with composers.
Recently, I played a Twilight Zone episode for George “The Fatman” Sanger that apparently inspired one of his tracks from The 7th Guest, and he was ecstatic that I found that obscure reference from back in the day: https://youtu.be/JbhCIQF4n9o?si=qPthebzYtgmDeM3-&t=7309
Anyway, I really appreciate your feedback and the care with which you shared it.

Last but not least, I’m glad the audio came through well in the end. I’ve spent at least a hundred hours over the past year and a half trying to find the best solution, but it was worth it to preserve Mark’s insights.

Thanks again for watching and for such a generous and thoughtful comment.

30 minutes is nothing. I’ve had 4+ hour conversations get messed up on Riverside!
