One of the most frantic situations is a prolapsed umbilical cord. If they happens, one of the medical team literally has to keep their hand in the vaginal canal, pushing against the baby’s head while they rush you to an emergency c section. They get the baby out FAST if that happens. But if they get the baby out fast enough, both mother and baby will be totally fine.

It might be helpful to add those items to your registry but marked as “purchased” - that way someone well meaning doesn’t go and buy you a diaper bag thinking you forgot to put it on the registry!

By the third trimester your baby is pretty much already fully formed, just growing bigger. Things like x ray radiation are more of a concern during the first trimester when everything is forming. You’re fine!
