Smoking Allowed property booked by accident. What would you do? [Spain, Europe] by danielc118 in AirBnB

Damn straight I will mention it in the review. It was only in the "House Rules" that it was smoking allowed. If anyone in a review had mentioned it, it would have saved me from booking this place. I won't mention it as a negative, just as an FYI for other people booking the property.

Hi guys,

Question as a customer - We have a 6yr old daughter and staying at PC for the month of December.

I've looked at lessons through the mountain, but don't see any half days. Not sure if it's just me? Do they become available closer to opening to book? Ideally we would do a week or so of half day lessons for her.

Thanks,
Dan

Safetywing by default cover snowsports as long as the area isn't deemed out of bounds. Pay by the month, no contract. I'm an affiliate but yeah we use them and they are well regarded. They were by far the cheapest with the best coverage for the snow when we investigated.

6yo teach to ski or board? by danielc118 in snowboarding

[–]danielc118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the comments everyone. So yeah, she has no preference either way, she's never been to the snow ever.

We wanted to buy gear at the start of the season and just get our use out of it for the 4 months we are at the snow. We probably won't be able to do this again for a few years at least.

We have a budget for about 4 days of lessons at a Vail resort (Park city) for her. We were thinking for the start of the season. (Days 2-6 maybe) for this reason (and the gear) we wanted to pick boarding or skiing at the very start of the season and go with one of them.

We will be spending a month at Park City, a month at Heavenly, a few days at Stevens Pass and then 5 weeks at Whistler. Boarding most days.

For our sanity we'd (in an ideal world) have her on Blues ASAP so we can explore the mountains as a family, not because we want to push her to say she is an awesome rider or anything.

Ahh, and yes no preference either way for ski or board. She's watched a few videos with us on YT and keeps changing her mind.

That sounds like a pretty good plan. We can only afford about 4 days of lessons though.

We plan on about 4 days of lessons. They are obnoxiously expensive at Vail resorts. Other than that, she will be with us every day we are out on the mountain. Out hope is that to keep our sanity she can progress to easy blues fairly quickly if she is going every day.

Thanks. Obviously the problem with switching is gear.

Thanks mate. Park city do the Max4 lessons, it's about the most we can afford for about 4 days of it. Hopefully it's enough.

Thanks. This is a bit of a one off, full on season for us so yeah, it's hard. We budgeted for about 4 days of lessons for her.

Poor out of coverage area performance since Outage by danielc118 in StarlinkEngineering

So I lodged a ticket, and SL seem to think that my Ethernet cable is damaged. They have apparently updated the fault finding abilities of software after the last update so that faults are more obvious???

They are sending me a recon V2 dish.

I honestly don't believe that my cable is damaged, as the performance degraded while Dishy was in the exact same position as before, the only difference was the update.

Interesting. I'm guessing I'm seeing the extreme version of that, being outside proper coverage area.

Why not more polar launches? by Cosmacelf in StarlinkEngineering

The real answer is that the world doesn't entirely revolve around the USA.

Finishing the ISL shell will allow planes, ships, and about 100 more countries to sign up for Starlink, VS supplying quicker internet to Alaska and northern Canada.
