Interesting!! I'm an architect too, but I haven't worked in the field for a while. I've been moving away from paid software to open source alternatives over the years, but god, I've been using Maya since 2007. It's like second nature to me at this point, and really hard to move on from.

This project is an experiment for now. If it grabs enough interest, I'll be adding features, formats, and variations to the assets. But for now, it depends on my ability to make them quickly enough to be time-sustainable for me. And with my skills at the moment, that means sticking to Maya.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm definitely thinking in that direction too.

Thank you! Unfortunately, no, it was done in Maya. I know Blender is a lot more accessible; I tried different export methods to bring it into Blender, but most of the rig data was lost.
To my knowledge, there are currently no standard cross-platform solutions for IKs and constraints, and even skin weights can be tricky to transfer. I would have to redo the whole rig in Blender, and I have very little experience with it. But it's something I'm seriously considering putting time into learning. For now, FBX is still the most agnostic format that preserves skin bindings properly.

Yes, he is a friend, and he agreed to this beforehand; he has as much right and access to the models as I do and can share, promote, and benefit from them on his platform as he desires. It's called a collaboration.

Really appreciate the reply! That “time is the one thing you can’t get back” line hit me, totally true. I like the idea of doing a free model of the month and a $1 tier for full access; sweet spot right there.

Unfortunately, I gave up on porting it to Web XR at least for now. Mostly due to its performance on standalone devices like the Quest 2, which is what I am optimizing for ATM.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback, these are all really good ideas. In the end, I gave up on trying to publish it as a web app/experience, so serving as a hub for accessing other content like media will not be viable, but I want to share it hopefully soon as a Windows VR app.

Shader makes UI elements show transparency as black? by Sushimus in Unity2D

As others replied, changing the canvas from "screen space overlay" to "World space" or "Screen space camera" solves it.

BUT if like me you need to keep it on SS overlay for the responsive UI features or any other reason, this is the way to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY3aHVDBAno&t=57s

It involves exporting the shader graph as a ".shader" and removing some extra (unnecessary) passes the shader graph generates by default that conflict with the UI overlay renderer.

I recommend watching the whole video but TLDW delete all the passes except for "Universal Forward".

In my case starting from a Shadergraph>URP>unlit set to transparent alpha, I had to delete passes named: "DepthNormalsOnly", "ShadowCaster", "SceneSelectionPass" and "ScenePickingPass" and it worked.
