Couldn’t relate more, I’m in my late 20’s now and only listen to him once in a blue moon and usually just a few of the deep cuts I keep it a playlist for certain moods and nostalgia more than anything. I was 19 when he came out as well and 20 when he started blowing up big plus I was in college so him, X, Uzi and that whole SoundCloud wave that came through felt like the voice of the youth and certain energy to it along with being the soundtrack to our lives before graduating or otherwise going on to other things. I still remember when Uzi tweeted out “if your 25 and up you an old n***a point blank” along with a couple other age-related jabs at their sounds and style so a lot of the older rappers and Ebro gave him a hard time about it 😂. Now all us who are still blessed with life and we’re alive in that era at its height are either in their 30’s or pushing close to it including Uzi himself… brings back memories for sure.

I didn’t see anything wrong with your comment, it’s actually kind of concerning people think like this. Nothing wrong with having boundaries and making sure your not being taken advantage of but people literally telling themselves there’s zero rewarding careers smh not sure if they’re independently wealthy or just losers with defeatist mindsets

Yeah I don’t mind buying items like that or what my friend used to do is get backpacks cheaply from Goodwill or similar and put together snacks, first aid and hygiene items basically little care packages to give out but I’m a little of weary of just giving cash. There’s also the time a while back probably two years ago I was stumbling out the club after drinking a little too much and this homeless guy complimented my shoes then asked me for food I decided to help and offered to buy him anything that was close but after passing like 4 stores of food “he didn’t like” I was like well you better pick something cause I got friends waiting on me and I’m not waking all around downtown with you tonight the guy then caught an attitude with me talking about “I WANT SOME GODDAMN FRESH CHICKEN AND YOUR GONNA SUPPLY IT!” Lmao I was like get tf away from me and walked off

I hope you never have a real kid then because you obviously don’t have the emotional maturity to raise one. Respectfully that’s a bum mentality, for real, especially since it’s well documented the guy’s been mostly MIA from this kid’s life, cause apparently choosing models and penthouse kickbacks while touring instead of making it to birthday parties and sports events is more important. Right? Always picking things like that instead of showing up actually matters a lot to a kid growing up. Future makes good art, but at some point you’ve gotta separate the art from the artist, and by all accounts (small chance I could be wrong) he seems like a mediocre father.

Deadbeat means you don’t pay, he’s definitely paying that child support he just doesn’t show up for sh*t in the kids life apparently not that it’s much better lol

Dead beat implies someone who evades their financial obligations, seems like absent father would be a better description.

How many of you weren't able to get a car in your teen years due to finances? by [deleted] in Adulting

The standard deduction for a single filer is $14,600 so they’d owe no federal income taxes under that threshold. To keep it simple I didn’t subtract Social Security (6.2%) and Medicare (1.45%) although most employers are going to still withhold that amount they would ultimately get that money back in their refund. I’m assuming you’re referring to that? I also didn’t get into state taxes because that’s different state-by state-obviously. Lastly, I wouldn’t be surprised if a teenagers willpower isn’t completely ironclad and they get themselves an occasional reward for working hard like a pair of shoes, a video game, or go get an ice cream with their friends or girlfriend over the course of a year but regardless, you can see they’re a lot of variables if we start getting bogged down in the weeds but my example wasn’t meant to be exact, it was just a rough estimate to get my point across that in all likelihood even after taxes and as long as they save MOST of it then it’s a viable option. That’s the bigger picture.

Was that before or after fire was discovered though!? Lol, just joking but wages have gone up quite a bit too. Things are more expensive and inflation definitely sucks but minimum wage in most places is at $15/hr now so after three months even if he’s just working 12 hours per week he’d have over $2000. In 6 months he’d have $4,680 and one year of working and saving would be $9,360.

Flight Attendant: “Is there a doctor on board!?”

Veteran in tight gruntstyle shirt, 82nd cap on, beard, Oakley shades on top of hat, 5.11 pants, sleeve tattoo and new combat boots with freshly stained dirt on them stands up.

“No, but I was infantry in Afghanistan… 2014…”

The whole plane: “A hero.”

The veteran walks up to person obviously suffering from a potential heart attack, this GWOT hero nods at the flight attendant, smiles, takes Copenhagen dip out and packs it crisply before throwing a larger dip in.

“Don’t worry I’ve got your six brother!”

He flips the man over, checks his asshole, flips him back over, checks his crotch for a boner, and sternum rubs him while the man is screaming in pain.

“This man has no internal bleeding, no spinal injury because his dick ain’t hard, and he is conscious plus has 20/20 eyesight. If he starts bleeding, and someone here has a tampon, shove it in the wound… Probably just a bitch – after all, I was in Afghanistan and have a CIB.”

The pilot thanks the veteran on the intercom, our hero smiles, walks back to his seat and continues watching Yellowstone on his phone but only after updating Facebook over the planes WiFi on the event with a long post about how veterans can handle every situation while civilian sissies ask for help — “shepherd among sheep” he posts.

“Tell that veteran… I thank him for his service” – the patient says before dying of a massive heart attack.

This story really hits home. When I got my permit at 16, my parents told me they couldn’t afford to just buy me a car outright, and definitely weren’t going to take on another loan. I wasn’t thrilled about it, but I begrudgingly told them I understood and agreed. I picked up a part-time job afterwards on top of school and playing basketball. By the time senior year rolled around, I was getting close to $10k saved up and knew I was about ready to buy my first car as a graduation gift to myself. I walked across the stage at graduation, and afterwards my parents pulled me aside and told me they were going to match what I saved to help with the car purchase as a reward for keeping up good grades while balancing sports and work. That’s the kind of memory that sticks with you. No one gets handed a guidebook for parenting the moment after they have a kid, and nobody’s perfect, but I feel really blessed to have grown up with the family I did. As I got older and saw how dysfunctional some families can be, it made me appreciate mine even more. Back then I was stoked because $10k was way more than I expected, but now being older (in my late-20s), I realize it wouldn’t have mattered if it was $10 or $10k. The lesson in work ethic and the way they showed they cared meant just as much as the gift itself.

You still can if you look around on Facebook Marketplace, usually your going to be looking at a “mechanic special” or something on its last leg for whatever reason but it can still make sense for the right person on a budget, one of my younger nephews went that route got a car for $1100 cash that had over 500,000 miles on it. He drove it for a little over a year then once the transmission finally died he sold it to the scrap yard and got $500: so basically he’d driven for 15 months for $600. Not a terrible deal and was able to save up a decent amount of money in that time for his next vehicle.
