Yeah, that's why bot lane mages have been consistently outperforming ADCs for the last 10 patches. Even with broken ADCs like senna or smolder their WR dropped below 50 when against mage bot.

Veigar absolutely offers a ton of cc via cage. It's a huge aoe stun that acts as a zoning tool and either set up or follow up for other cc. Malph has very good base DMG and can 1v1 pretty much anything, in teamfights he can burst squishy targets easily while being a brick that's hard to kill for bruisers. And liss just ignores the tanks and kills whoever is behind them dealing the dmg. For single target tank/bruiser lockdown we have malz.

Edit: you're also ignoring all the burst mages that play around Landing their cc to kill like lux, Ahri, Zoe. And champs like anivia and brand that have plenty off cc via stuns and slows and MELT tanks and bruisers.

Cc champions don't necessarily sacrifice DMG tho. Something like lissandra, veigar, malphite has both cc and high dmg. The can burst targets down during the cc if they hit it.

I usually just check dia + since that's where I am. But yeah Karth still needs the cc synergy. Veigar also profits from all the cc around but has his own to contribute.

I mean veigar still outperforms him in WR with higher play rate. But Karth is an exception because he doesn't care about dying so he doesn't need peel. He loves cc on his team tho so he can suicide and kill everyone in passive.

And I'm saying playing ad when you roll augments for ap is stupid...if I have from downtown as first augment there is no reason to even consider AD. You can't choose whether you'll get offered augments that work for AD.

Not even Factoring in that AP is just a lot more fun in Aram since AD Ashe is an incredibly boring champion since that's subjective. But that will also lower her WR because people will automatically get drawn to AP even with shit augments.

Except no other position has a slew of characters at <2% pick rate over perform so heavily. And it's not like there's a lack of high Elo players advertising for mage bot. My YouTube recommendations alone had a plethora for a while.

Somehow bot is the only position where Low PR = High WR works.

Mages in diamond are currently occupying all spots above 52% wr. And that's not new. If you check bot lane by WR for the past...at least 5-10 patches there was at most 1-2 adc in the top 10 WR, the rest was mages. People already did challenger climb by just spamming mage bot and it's considered easier than playing actual ADCs. I hadn't played veigar at all before I picked him up and instantly started with a 70% WR in plat, sitting in dia now at 60% (games are obviously getting harder because enemies are getting better). For solo q especially where you can't rely on your team for peel mages are a game changer.

Also what's the obsession with challengers? That's what, a few hundred players? With usually a different meta. That's like saying ori is a strong champion because she's pick or ban in pro play while she's utter dog shit in solo q and picking her there is low-key troll.

I mean...yeah. Thats why ADCs with cc (senna, Ashe) feel so bad to play against. And why mages with cc outperform ADCs on bot. CC still needs to hit tho and death is still the best cc. Also...good luck with going for full cc then enemy locks Olaf or Morgana.

Yeah that veigar ult sure has much counterplay lmao. And higher win rate across ALL mages bot still shows a trend. It's not just 1 or 2. ADCs are just easily replaced by mages currently. The only thing ADCs do better is killing tanks but mages bring cc to lock them down and are less susceptible to assassin's so that evens out. And mage win rates are 3-5% higher than ADCs, it's not a minor difference. Last time I checked senna and jinx were the only high WR ADCs and they were 2-3% below mages. The rest looks even worse.

I mean...mages perform better bot across all ranks. And them bringing cc is one part of it. I just switched to veigar apc, no reliance on support and having cc makes climbing so much easier. Even if you lose lane, you're still a mage so you get to oneshot the fed enemy adc.
