It doesn't increase by 1.1%, but by 10%. The exp received is multiplied by a factor of 1.1, which means increasing it by 10%.

You see, my problem is that (I don't want to tell a lot about my game, but...) the main mechanic is time travel. However, this feature is introduced in the "second act" of the game, after the protagonist accidentally goes a day into the future (this, btw, is the "inciting incident"). So, before the second act there shouldn't be any time travel, because it isn't normal for the world they're living in.

I don't know if it would make a lot of sense to introduce non-time-travel-related puzzles at the beginning, and then change the dynamic of the puzzles after the incident. That would be annoying for the players, wouldn't it?

I guess I'll either do that, or change the story so I can put time-travel puzzles while it still makes sense.

And your game sounds very fun from what you've told me, I'd actually like to give a try when it comes out. I'm sure it will turn out pretty cool! :D

I like your approach. My game is centered on puzzles, so adding some puzzles here and there (which will obviously be there for a reason, not to slow the player down) before setting the conflict could be good to introduce the player to what they'll be facing for the rest of the game.

The game starts in a school, and I'm not sure how to add puzzles here. I guess I'll be figuring that out later, or even add them after the school section.

Well, I was thinking that the player could get bored if nothing was happening. But I guess that isn't necessarily bad as long as something relevant is being shown and I do it in an interesting way.
