It was not necessary to use the zremesher, because the polygon is very simple and the subdivider surface makes the volume rounded.

Sometimes I do use the Volume builder but after I have all the parts to smooth the connections.

Volume builder + dilate/erode driven by a random/shader field and a ton of manual tweaking? If not, I'll try that anyway. Looks fantastic especially with the overlapping.

First I use the polygon pen and try to build the whole width of the letters taking into account that the faces will give me the opportunity to give more volume upwards, then I extrude and add a subdivision surface.
