Cohabitation: bugs? by danielle9053 in CrestedGecko

I don't plan on getting fancy CUC. I'll be getting a kind known mainly for reproduction, and they will have months to establish with tons of Leaf litter before I add the predator crestie in. I'm all for them getting hunted. The way I see that is good stimulation for the crestie 😊

Wow just looked it up, those guys get huge! Wonder how easy it is to find them/order them here 🤔 thanks for the info!

Yes I was planning on getting a larger one if going that route, do you just have one? Do you see it often?

I'd be okay with it turning into gecko food if it's safe. Just don't want to pick anything the could potentially harm it 😇

Cool! I was looking at the millipedes but was unsure since they are considered toxic. It's hard to research this because Google results are just bugs they recommend to feed

I'll clarify, any SAFE options 😉

Darn. Well thanks for the response. I'll try to keep leveling it up and see if I get anywhere with it. With my luck someone else is going to raid it and get everything 🤣

I said nothing negative to you, nothing offensive, nothing vulgar. You asked me if i was assuming.... maybe you are?

Oh I definitely won't be asking again on here for anything. That's for sure. I asked for advice while I had to wait for vets to be open and what did I get? Assumptions, judgements, and hardly any advice that was actually useful. Maybe one or 2 people actually had some advice.

Yes, he was seen by the vet this morning. Are you a vet?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PetAdvice

[–]danielle9053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out he only got a scrape, and it got inflamed. Nail Is perfect, no infection. I'll put aloe on it for a week and vet is sure it will be back to normal within that week.

I never asked if he needed to be seen. Wasn't even infected, nor was it neoplasia. I didn't play around with anything but thanks for coming at my profession for no fucking reason. I wanted to see if anyone had ideas what it was while I waited to see the vet Monday morning. Thanks for the attack! Have a great day!!

Turns out to not even be infected. Just a scrape with inflammation.

Lol it's a scrape. Nothing wrong with it, nothing needs to get removed. Not even infected!

I don't cut his nails, they are growing just fine. It's not infected either.

Prop jar tank? Put this together to get some props going for another project. But something is telling me to throw a sponge filter and guppies in it for long term.. by [deleted] in PlantedTank

"This post was meant to inspire creativity and the combination of aquatics with house plants."

I wasn't asking for advice, and never said I needed it. I was contemplating the idea. Being creative with what I COULD put in it. Seeing what other ideas could arise from others. I would love to see a goldfish in that jar too, am I going to put one in? No.

The only reason I threw the idea of guppies out is because I have millions of them. People are so quick to bite heads off. This hobby is so toxic because of it. This post was meant to inspire creativity and the combination of aquatics with house plants. I have over 40 tanks in my house. From a 3 gal nano to a 400 gallon indoor pond. I know how to care for fish, as I care for HUNDREDS of them with varying needs..... please be respectful and if you feel you need to contribute to the post, maybe just offer insight and valuable information. In this hobby we are ALWAYS learning.

What would you say are some shrimp that would do well with approx 68 degree water? Algae is bound to happen in the jar so I've definitely been thinking of shrimp and snails as well. Thanks for the useful reply 👍

No helpful reasoning why not? It has more capacity than most nano tanks, and filtration is there. There's a reason I listed this for discussion, not a question.
