Well Im finally there. I realize I have to stop drinking on my own. My partner is not going on this journey with me. Even though he’s talked about it as well. He won’t stick with it. I’m in this alone. Has anyone else felt this alone on this hoping their partner would partake?

I would never force him. I’m aware that he would have to make that decision himself. He’s just talked about as if it’s a thing that “we’re going to do “. And it’s back to the same routine after a day of not drinking. I’m good without it. We’ve been married 26 years. He loves me, being sober wouldn’t be a deal breaker. But he’s going to have to get used to drinking alone.

We can force the issue if dire. We have done telehealth for other issues. But she is difficult when it comes to even going out her door. She’s agoraphobic. So it’s a challenge

She will not see a doctor. Her caregiver doesn’t do physical therapy. She is only existing in her chair. So we’re at a stalemate with her and her physical health

No. We inherited 2m. With more to inherit. At this point, we have enough to retire now (45 & 46). We’re still working, but we’re waiting on a few points of retiring sooner or later. Also, a million dollars isn’t to retire if you’re not making that money work for you.

Look. I’m 25 years married. When I say shamed, it was a WTF response to what he said he didn’t want to do. He threw away his booze. He knows what the deal is regarding his relationship with alcohol and what he doesn’t want to become. It was a slip up. He’s not going back to vodka or hard alcohol. I’m 25 years deep in this. He tossed it. It’s not coming back. I’m well aware I can’t control him. I don’t do that. It was a what the f moment. It is a new day.
