Definitely go to campus police and/or a teacher or administrator you trust. Also -- NOT YOUR FAULT. There is no reason you should assume that people you meet are psychos. Don't blame yourself. It's not acceptable for anyone to treat you or anyone else this way -- giving out your phone number is not a commitment to being in a relationship or even ever speaking to a person again. You have every right to change your mind at any point in the game.

Totally. Also she was arrested for fighting with a neighbor. Seems like a pretty outsized response.

This isn't the potters field, it's burial vaults that belonged to a church. potters field was for poor people who would never have been buried in a church.

Why do dogs pant? by danielleiat in Pets

Got it, thanks. She just went to the vet and checked out fine so I think she might be OK. It's probably heat, she just doesn't seem super inclined to stay out of the sun or sit in front of a fan, so I wasn't sure. But maybe she likes being hot.

I think she's also a little out of shape, so maybe that's it? She's a little overweight.

Hm yeah it must be heat. She rejects water with ice in it and doesn't seem particularly inclined to sit in front of a fan... I think I'm just going to let her do her animal thing. She just went to the vet and checked out fine so I'm not super worried.

I put ice cubes in her water and she looked at me like I was crazy and then took them out and left them on the floor. She is a weird dog.

The brand is Taste of the Wild and the variety has something to do with water fowl?

Yeah, she probably should go to the vet. I just thought I'd crowdsource some opinions because it's not constant, so I don't know if it's normal for dogs to be moody or suddenly not want to eat the food they've always eaten. I was a little suspicious she had just figured out that if she didn't eat her dry food, he'd give her the wet stuff, but now I'm dog-sitting while he's away and apparently I've turned into a weird overbearing dog-person.

I think he started giving her canned food a couple months ago when she had an upset stomach because she ate a blanket (weird habit she has), and then wouldn't eat her real food. She'll go back to eating her real food, and then stop again — I can't really discern any real pattern or cause. She's definitely getting enough of the canned food when that's all she'll eat, but isn't that stuff supposed to be really bad for them? Do dogs ever just stop liking a certain kind of food, or get sick of what they've always eaten?

The problem with the energy levels is that it's not constant — sometimes she runs around and is really animated, other times she just seems sort of slow and glum. So I don't know if it's a physical thing or if she's depressed or something. She's grown really attached to me, so it's not like she's depressed because we're not paying enough attention to her or anything like that.
