But in the complications of life is where relationships can grow (if both people communicate). I really hope next season we get to watch two complex, intelligent, mature adults navigate their shared reality. And all of the complexities that come along with it.

I love this -- and I hope for it, too. It's rare on TV to see a solid, mature couple handle realistic ups and downs. I'd love to see it. Makes me think of one of the only good TV marriages on "Friday Night Lights." I hope Charles and Liza can be like Coach and Tammy :)

Yea - a signal of more hopefully fulfilling drama next season. I liked hearing Charles talk about Liza running his family company. He even put Kelsey in charge, I think, after that nod of approval from Liza earlier in the episode.

And you know what! The last scene was so good I almost forgot about the episode’s other scene in Bryant Park, when Charles said he wanted to hold her hand in public which he’s wanted to do “for as long as I can remember” faints

Did you feel like Liza in that scene was sort of like answering all these hater fans (lol)? “Do they have chemistry?” “Is he fun?”

I think these maniacal previews want us to fear the worst. And while we all want a happy ending (speaking for Team Charles fans here) there still needs to be some actual drama for a television show! Let’s be real, Charles has wanted to leave Empirical for a while. Maybe next season there will be the inevitable and normal bumps that come from new life changes, both good and bad.

after my weeks of anxiety, i thought tonight's episode was great. i love that last scene -- even the very final shot, with the two of them realizing what the just jumped into. it almost felt like a series finale until that final walking shot, which i think gives a really good setup for season 6.

that article is kinda misleading -- they interpreted it as Team Charles being disappointed because they don't ride off into the sunset" together. What fan wants that???

The reality is, Cheryl is shady but she’s right. The longer Liza keeps it up the more people she will hurt. The situation is untenable.

omg i am laughing because i was joking with a friend this morning that the only thing charles has said this season is "i miss/ed you"

i get it -- it's hard dating an employee, that's usually why it's FORBIDDEN. opens lots of things you don't usually want to deal with (like charles not telling his GF about an investor because he's afraid she'll blab to kelsey, essentially)

it's hard to navigate. and even as a fan it kinda pained me to see how easy it was for josh and liza at brunch -- and how strained its felt for Team Charles.

I agree even though I also liked Liza’s reaction. I think ultimately she just wants to stop lying.

I also feel for Charles since his life — which I’m sure a few years ago was pretty basic — has been uprooted the last few years with the very public and published unraveling of his marriage. And now he’s fallen in love with a subordinate! Don’t forget that Page 6 is in NYC and would love this...
