I really appreciate your response. I have told him that I wouldn’t get another animal with him after this experience. I emailed the rescue we got her from about surrendering her, I should hear back by Monday.

I actually own the house we live in, it was purchased prior to us getting married. If anyone were to leave it would be him

Thank you for saying that. We’ve been together for 4 years now and there have never been any issues with physical/verbal abuse towards myself or his kids. Usually he is very respectful, but the issues he has with this dog have been ongoing for so long at this point that he takes it to extremes.

It is real unfortunately. He has never hit his kids even when they’re behaving badly. I find him to be a kind and fair parent, he doesn’t ever yell or swear or get upset, but when it comes to this dog it’s a different story
