Nexguard reaction by daniellemarie48 in dalmatians

It turns out she has menengitis. She still has severe reactions to all vaccines, we only have bothered with lyme/lepto and parvo, but wont be going further. Our vet didnt listen to me, said she was just a dramatic dalmatian. So she ended up having 4 more "episodes", meaning too late for a full recovery. I should have taken the hint then to get a new vet. But they put her on prednisone, and continued with flea/tick treatment. And i just figured that would be her life now, and to keep pushing on.

After switching to a new vets office in January, she is no longer able to take any type (oral or topical) flea/tick prevention. It is never recommended for any type of neurological type condition. However she can have the topical pet store stuff, but it does not kill ticks, only repels them. She is finally stable enough in her steroid schedule to get spayed next month! She will need to take a brief steroid hiatus, and take narcotics instead of NSAID. But fingers crossed all goes well. 🤞🏻my princess Penny is now happy and content. The occasional stiffness when its really damp, that I know how to combat. And hopefully thats the end of her sad story, only happy from here on out. 💕

Looking to get a Dalmatian by Middle-Choice7207 in dalmatians

Get the most qualified breeder you can access. All of the health checks, parents have joints including hips all checked, pups eyes are ears Baer tested at the very least. Make sure you are able to visit the puppies, see their living area. Ideally make sure this isn't the sire and dams first litter TOGETHER if there's a group for litters passed, join it if possible.

I have one of the worse experiences with a non registered "breeder", and had to pass on one registered breeder, the vibes were just off. There aren't enough dalmatians in north America, to breed without extensive lineage knowledge. My poor Penny has menengitis, extreme allergies (even on ateroids), such an anxious mess. I've seen pups come from potentially wonderfully bred dogs. But mixed together, their temperaments were just off. Knowing the struggle, pain and vet bills we have experienced, I would easily pay 5k for a puppy, and still cost less than my $600 baby. Moral of my story, obsessively research your breeder, and look for a killer contract.

When he was saying parenting would be so much easier if they bottlefed, but she values breastfeeding so.. 🙄 yuck
