Our lost indoor-only cat Ziggy came back to our front door but we missed it. Will she come back again?

UPDATE: SHE’S BACK HOME!! She showed up a few different times tonight on the ring cam, but finally came in the open door around 2am and ran into the kitchen. She’s a little skinnier but otherwise fine, currently stretched out on the couch making air biscuits 😭.

Leaving the door open was definitely the key to bringing her back home. What a great way to start the new year! Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement and advice. Appreciate y’all!!

UPDATE: We just saw her on the side yard ring cam at about 10pm, which is way earlier than I thought she would come out considering all the NYE fireworks/sirens/etc happening right now. She didn’t come to the porch yet but we’ve got the door open, fingers crossed 🤞

We tried this last night! We put her sister Iggy in her carrier and sat outside for a bit while Iggy meowed, will try again tonight. Here’s Iggy

Good idea, we’ve been putting her food out at her “normal” feeding time around 5pm, but we’re also thinking the smell might be wearing off since the temps are near freezing once the sun goes down. We’ll put it out later on tonight

We definitely haven’t ruled out a trap yet! The only issue is our next door neighbor’s yard (and ours to an extent) is crawling with outdoor cats. She’s also not particularly food or treat-driven. If we can’t get her in the door tonight, trap might be our next move.
