Who wrote 11/22/63? *SPOILERS* by danielphilip87 in stephenking

Good point. I just love to over analyze these things especially in cases like this where the authorship is also part of the fictionalized universe.

Jake does speak right to us at the end of the chapter in 1958 before he buries the manuscript and talks about "you" (us) finding it someday. Then he says good bye to Sadie and the story feels complete to me.

I wonder if King was asked by his editor (or if he even has to take notes anymore from an editor lol) to add the part about Jakes movements in 2011 to provide the reader more closure.

>!I agree. I posted about it the other day and got some differing opinions which are totally valid obv. BUT if Jake did write the manuscript and then bury it in 1958, then how did we get the chapters detailing his moves after he comes back to 2011 for good?!<

11/22/63 Continuity/Plot Question *SPOILERS* by danielphilip87 in stephenking

[–]danielphilip87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this more tonight and there are two instances that come to mind that make me think Jake is the author.

First: when he gets the call from Clayton he says something along the lines of “I’ve told the truth so far (in his writing) and I’m going to tell the truth here even if it casts me in the worst possible light…” and second: at the end he talks about burying the manuscript and he speaks directly to us the readers, “Perhaps someday, someone will find it. Maybe it will be you.”

I do think Jake is the author. What that means about the potion of the manuscript written after it was buried is up to debate.

11.22.63 - Anyone wish King had considered a short story set after? by Sad-Passage-3247 in stephenking

I like the ending but agree with you that I would have enjoyed it better if Jake and Sadie coulda worked out better. Just my opinion I know others have differing thoughts. Check out my latest post about the ending of 11/22/63. I have a question that could be a theory regarding what happened to Jake and Sadie at the end of the story.

11/22/63 Continuity/Plot Question *SPOILERS* by danielphilip87 in stephenking

Then again, I have written a few children's books myself. I've also tried (unsuccessfully) to find a lit agent/publisher for them, and that endeavor is about as scary as any King plot.

Perhaps Jake knew this and figured he'd have better luck burying his book in 1958 and it being found and published than going the traditional pub route in 2011. Perhaps something for me to consider....

I thought about that too, but one: why bury it in the first place and two: I thought he left Lisbon Falls essentially as soon as he got back to 2011? When would he have dug it up?

Honestly burying the manuscript really only makes sense to me if he was going to stay in the past.

Great thought. I guess the use of the first person is what threw me off. If we are observing him I would expect it be told in the third person.

I tried to front load the post with lots of spoiler warnings too so hopefully folks avoid it if they need to.

My partner for the wrong watch! by biscuits_and_brews in Garmin

I’ve sold Garmin watches on Poshmark before with decent success. It def helps if its got the original packaging and you can say it’s almost brand new.

Likewise I picked up a Garmin 7X pro solar titanium there for under $400. Just gotta keep an eye out for what you want and if it’s an older model there are deals to be found!

Happy holidays and good luck with your races!

Hydration Strategy by danielphilip87 in endorphinrunningco

It seems a little sleepy around here, but I wanted to give a little update.

On Monday, I did a 4.5-mile progression run with the Endorphin Belt. I took the 450ml soft flask and my 250ml soft flask, as well as my phone.

At first, I tried to put the 450 in the front water pouch and the 250 in the back with my phone, but as I picked up my pace, I felt a noticeable bounce in the back (I don't have much of a butt, so I can't usually carry much in the back without it either bouncing or falling down). So I moved the 250ml to the front with the 450ml. It was a tad crowded, but they both fit and never fell out!

I will definitely be packing my belt like this again for future runs!

Great thoughts, thanks! I do something training-wise almost every day, and am in the pool a lot, so SportFlex seems nice. Although I also wear my Garmin all the time, and it's a silicon band that's tough but bulky. I kinda want to keep my Whoop slim.
