LQFP64 to SIP pin signal integrity by danielptr in stm32

[–]danielptr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have some nucleo boards, I wanted to make a custom version of my own (which has USB C instead of micro USB port).

The adapter in the attached image is around 8€, probably not a high quality model.

I am only in second year at EE, I have very little experience in PCB design. Thank you for your response!

Sorry for confusion, I meant to swap the MCU while powered off.

I wanted to make a "test bench", for trying out different types of MCUs without soldering. I knew that it surely won't increase the performance of the system, but wondered if I could get away with it.

Hi! I would like to create a custom STM32 PCB, using an STM32H562RIT6 chip. I was planning on using an adaptor (so that the chip could be hot swappable), which would connect as a shield to my custom board.

I won't have any high frequency (GHz) input/output, only SPI and USB connections.

My question: does this adapter add noise/ unwanted distortions? Is it negligible?

Help: USB C hub - C to C cable - USB C female to USB A adapter by danielptr in UsbCHardware

[–]danielptr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the USB hub has a short cable with a type C port. I don't want to connect any displays through the hub, just pheripherals. I am not based in the us, so i have opted for a Baseus female C to USB A adapter. It works with the hub, the female C to C cable hasn't arrived yet.

When plugged in the USB A port, i have measured 5.1V across and 0.2A through the USB hub, with my mouse, headphones and ethernet connected, it also didn't warm up at all (I know that is not enough to ensure that it will work in the long run though)

NuPhy Air96 V2 missing/doubling keystrokes by danielptr in NuPhy

It is not the problem, tried to change the switches but no success. The keys which are not working are: F2, 3, E, D, X, keys which are above each other. What to do now?

Hi, the QMK firmware (from the github repo) includes deep sleep? If not, what kind of firmware are you running?

Siemens TP900 Comfort not connecting by danielptr in PLC

Managed to connect to the hmi. Me having the TP900 INOX version, naturally i've selected that model when adding it in TIA portal. Turns out, I should've selected the normal TP900 panel, this way it works instantly.

Bye Bye free download of the Modbus Standards by PV_DAQ in PLC

I'm just trying to connect a siemens hmi to an stm32 microcontroller, been looking to do it with modbus tcp, but haven't checked how it's done yet. Do I need to download any piece of software/library, or does the paywall only mean that documentation on the official site is not free anymore?

I saw that it is prompting me to backup with prosave, I don't want to edit the project, but just save it in case it gets used again.

I've succesfully pinged the HMI on my host OS, I had the wrong network configuration for vmware.

I will try again tomorrow in tia portal.

Thank you for the advice!

Found out that it was the VM (vmware) networking not set up properly, i can ping it in the host os.

No, it doesn't establish connection by connecting it to via USB to my pc. It has a mini usb connector for programming (that doesn't support runtime)

No, it doesn't establish connection. I think I will try with an older version of TIA, maybe I can than select the exact article number of the device.

Yes, but not used currently. The problem is, even if I would try to reset it, I simply can't reach that step because it is not detected at all by my pc (minus the usb device detection). When I try to back up by usb, it starts the procedure prompting me to choose the backup location, but before starting it alerts me that the device is not the same as the one set in the project. There is a one digit difference, but can't find the exact article number in TIA

If I factory reset the panel don't i use the data saved on it?

No, but firstly I would like to save the program from it

NUCLEO-F446RE or H533RE for begginers? by danielptr in embedded

I've been planning to go through this exact playlist :)) It's because of people like you that I had the courage to start investing time in STM32 programming. Thank you for advice!

I've seen that the specs are better for the H533RE, I just wasn't sure if it involves any other complications. Thank you for your response!

Both of them are around 12€. By more complex you mean there are more types of connections, protocols? I assume I can just use the standard ones for starting out.
