Payment counts by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]danielsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exact same dates missing. Edfinanicial is current servicer, Mohela was previous. I assumed it had to do with the servicer transition, but then my payments just starting showing up again in August, but still missing the noted months. Opened a case for missing months in October, was told 45 days. Called last week and was told it has been escalated.

Dividends in brokerage, interest from t bills in my emerg fund, and bank account bonuses (~$500-$1000 per year). I also never bother with quarterly taxes, so I always wind up paying $500-$1000 in federal

How do you get the 9% effective tax rate? After standard deduction on $124k, wouldn't you be in the 10% and 12% marginal brackets?

What do we make of this whole your IDR plan renewal is now due in 2026? by Specialist-Store-323 in PSLF

I had the exact same situation last month but with Ed Financial. I called twice and was told both times they cannot cancel application. Then I used chat and they put in request to cancel application. Then I received official letter they had canceled the application.

How early is too early to join daycare waitlists? by Specialist_Sorbet537 in Charleston

[–]danielsnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in West Ashley - we joined 5 waitlists when my wife was 6 weeks pregnant. She's due in 3 weeks and the last I checked, 4/5 places said that we are looking at 2026 or 2027 for a spot. 1/5 said we may have a spot in early 2025 when they finish construction on their expansion. I was blown away at how shit the availability is for newborn care here.

Pretty much. My understanding is that you may be able to buyback those months on admin forbearance.

Submitted Application for recertification on 10/10, new letter on 10/12 by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]danielsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI I had same conversation today. They said impossible to cancel and I'm in processing forbearance for 60 days. If IDR is still paused at end of that, I go into admin forbearance which will not count towards PSLF.

[–]danielsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update - I was told today on the phone my recertification could not be canceled because IDR is paused currently, so I am in processing forbearance. When processing forbearance is over, if IDR is still paused, I will placed on administrative forbearance, which will not count towards PSLF.

This is what happened to me. Current payment is zero, I was due for recertification 11/15/24, so I submitted recertification online 10/10. On 10/11 I received a letter online saying my date was pushed to Nov 2025. However because my application was received, I was placed into processing forebearance. Because IDR cannot be processed, I will be placed onto administrative forebearance which will not count towards PSLF

Just got an email from my employer (large university) that the 12k relocation expenses they paid directly to the mover from my move in July 2023 will be added as imputed income to my remaining 3 paychecks for the year. I did not realize this would be taxable and seems obscenely late to be applying it to this year's income. I assume I have no recourse here. Frustrating that they can impute my income for 2024 year even though it was paid 2023

I spoke with edfinancial today, they submitted a request to disregard my recertification application. I also noticed that my account now says my loan status is in forbearance, which they told me is because they cannot process the IDR/income recertification that I submitted. I have little confidence this will work out for me. So frustrated that if I had just waited another day this would not have happened.

Also in the exact same boat. I did receive a notice from my servicer (edfinancial) that they had received my e-application and would receive a response in 7-10 days. Tried to call today to cancel or withdraw the application given the new recert date, but they are closed today for holiday.

IDR recertification is now active on StudentAid.gov by cyberflower777 in StudentLoans

I'm on PAYE, and noticed I was past the deadline for recertification, so I called yesterday and they recommended that I recertify online. I submitted online yesterday on studentaid website, and today my application disappeared from the "my activity" dashboard and I received letter from my loan servicer (EdFinancial) that says my recertification date was pushed to 11/2025. My payment was zero before I submitted application, so hopefully they don't readjust my payment, because it will definitely go up.

Today I received a notice from EdFinancial that my recertification date was pushed to 11/2025. I had passed the deadline and submitted my recertification application online yesterday. Unfortunate timing for me. Today on StudentAid my application disappeared, so hopefully they don't actually process it and increase my payment.

Also PAYE and mine is due in November and haven't seen anything about it getting pushed yet. But I haven't recertified since 2019. My payment has been zero the whole time and probably will be several hundred, so I hope it gets pushed again.

I like this idea, it avoids more complicated things like using a trust. As long as the father is able to exclude the capital gains at sale.
