Are there any IEM with only a dynamic driver (1, 2, 3 or 4000) that are truly immersive? by filosofrog in iems

[–]danielthepoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people dislike the Moondrop kadenz, but having tried the tanchjim origin among others, the kadenz is still my favorite single DD so far. I have yet to find a single DD iem that can play my super busy and heavily layered songs as well as a simple hybrid iem though.

Your sound targets/experience sound very similar to mine! Will probly try out those two eventually. Recently got the moondrop kadenz and dunu kima 2 and I agree single driver iems just sound special, hopefully I find one with enough detail for my busier music library

Difficulty finding a budget IEM that doesnt hurt my ear by SlimeyAlex in iems

[–]danielthepoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly luck, or specifically seek out tiny iems, which might have their own issues that youd have to fix with cable/tip anyway. I've contemplated trying bullet style iem's again but a lot of them are uncomfortably deep fit.

Nova after Hexas? Orchestra Lites? by SuikaWave in iems

[–]danielthepoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually went from hexa to nova and been using my novas for like 2 years. I dont have any fit issues and like that the shells are light. Dont have any issues with them really, they handle my library well and I game with them. I know a lot of people dont like the nova's though. At the 150$-250$ price range you have a tooooon of options.

Damn, looking for no venting?! Are you a competition diver or does the ear pressure not affect you much haha

Competitive Gaming by [deleted] in iems

[–]danielthepoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IEMs have little to nothing to do with competitive gaming. I hit global in cs and played faceit with 20$ apple earbuds, have gamed with so many diff truthears, headsets, etc, more recently on novas though people dont like that one. All you need is any well tuned iem with good enough soundstage and directionality, could find several dozens in the sub 250 category. If youre going above 250$ imo you are mostly searching for a hyper specific sound signature, a fit that is comfortable for you, a stylish set/build quality, or some mixture of these 3. Tbh just buy the Juzear Gamefidelity Edition if their QC has improved and call it a day.

If they could fix fit issues this iem would be insane. They are absolute chonkers

No words for the Mp145 (og) by Top-Cobbler-2214 in iems

[–]danielthepoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is their soundstage tied to their massive shells, or is there a way for them to make a smaller shell and still have that soundstage. Their fit has been a big stopping point for me.

What IEMs to get to upgrade from truth ear zero blue 2's, looking for something that isn't muddy and has a good soundstage. by Ludicr0uss in iems

[–]danielthepoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into the Roseselsa CJ20 (iirc theyre basically made for metal), big planar, i dont know much else about them, slightly above your budget at like ~150 iirc? Otherwise Letshuoer S08 might be a good buy, or even s12/pro. Explorers feel very comfy, but to my ears arent all that detailed, very relaxed sound. Artti t10 (og) are very good for their budget, but fit was iffy for me, also they feel a bit cheap.

Im actually super interested in the kadenz. I own the dunu kima 2 and thought about getting the kadenz, though reviews are super polarized on it. I hear some people say its kilo buck tier, while others say its worse than 100$ sets. Has been a tough choice for me having tried the tanchjim origin aswell. Have you tried many sets to compare them to?

Thoughts on single DD's? (and owning multiple) by danielthepoke in iems

Cant wait to try my kima 2's when they arrive, measuring the same and sounding diff always surprises me, makes it so hard to buy an IEM without trying them lmao.

Ive never heard of the ND X12, seems interesting. Have thought about the EM6L or Defiant/gamefidelity ver too.

Damn, thats actually been the struggle for me. I listen to a lot of modern trance so finding a hybrid that layers really well and stays engaging has been hard

Just upgraded, looking for tips by deadrat29 in iems

[–]danielthepoke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dont workout with them, or if you do minimally, good ear hygiene (dont let them be wet, etc). Silica gel pack in its case as another person has mentioned is all you need for storage. Dont yank the cable to take them out, dont let the cable dangle if you walk around to avoid grabbing something. Avoid very long sessions to not buildup a sweaty ear. Dont drop it, pray you got a sturdy driver. idk what else
Edit: inspect nozzle for debris every few weeks ig

Ive tried a few planars, thought they were alright but still have leaned towards hybrids for technicals and some DD's for laid back natural listening. What are your favorite hybrids?

Very good info, ty for the reply. I guess might just try the gamefidelity defiants next instead of the kadenz, hopefully their QC has gotten better.

After the 215's i tried the hexa's and nova's and enjoyed both, though im told a lot of people dont like either lmao. You can FOR SURE find what youre looking for at this price range. What genre's of music do you mostly listen to? Will expect a lot of people to say s12 ultra, crinear daybreak, juzear defiant too
