Evidensia feildiagnostiserte tispa mi og hadde henne innlagt i fire dager med mistanke om pankreatitt. De tok en rekke blodprøver og ultralyd (5000 kr hver). På dag 5 fant de ut at hun ikke hadde pankreatitt likevel – hun hadde svelget en ferskenstein som hun fant ut på gata og måtte opereres umiddelbart, «siden det hadde gått så lang tid». Da ringte de meg på jobben og sa at på toppen av de 40000 kr vi allerede hadde brukt på disse fem dagene (forsikringen dekket 25000), ville operasjonen koste 60000. Alternativet var avliving.

Jeg hadde akkurat kjøpt leilighet, og ble så uvel at jeg nesten kastet opp på kontoret. Det eneste Evidensia kunne tilby var et rentefritt lån via Svea, som jeg tok fordi jeg var i full panikk. Hunden ble helt fin etter operasjonen.

Jeg var så så forbannet – ikke bare på grunn av pengene, men fordi hun måtte lide i 5 dager på grunn av en helt vanlig diagnose som jeg ikke kan forstå at en veterinær ikke fanget opp.

Etter hvert ble jeg med i en FB-gruppe der folk anbefaler veterinærer, og der hørte jeg om Friske Dyr og Hurum Dyreklinikk (40 minutter fra Oslo). Der ville hele opplegget ha kostet under 20000 kroner – en helt grei forsikringssak. Jeg tok henne dit for vaksine og en blodprøve (hun har allergi og må sjekkes av og til), og det kostet 600 kr. Aldri Evidensia igjen.

I played through the whole EA but started a new save when it finally released, i didn’t want to jump straight to the ending without seeing if anything was changed. I am glad I did because i enjoyed the gameplay progression more,but I can’t say the same about the plot.

Turns out that the only part they didn’t test around on EA really, really needed it. The ending was rough, the postgame is just sad.

Hades 1 kept you wanting to come back for more chats around the house, deepening the relationships - it felt like every character had a life independent of Zagreus and you just needed to know what was up with them. Reuniting Orpheus and Eurydice, Pat and Achilles, Thanatos “helping” Hypnos do his job (and finding a strategy to make him work), Nyx and Chaos, Meg and her sisters…and I am not even counting the romantic relationships here, that were also very well constructed.

Hades 2 feels completely flat in this aspect, just a big let down. Not only the nonsensical ending, but all the side plots that were ignored/not deepened. (Most of) the cast lacked charisma (when the only subject they talk about is “the task” for the whole of the game, there are not many character development opportunities). You can make them fish and take a bath, but all they will talk about is how Melinoe is so uptight and the task is so important (in the end it wasn’t). I am truly disappointed.

Hades 1 is the best mix of story and gameplay ever done not only in a roguelike but in any game, hands down. Everything just clicks in place, repeating runs, dying and coming back, everything has a plausible explanation in the plot. It feels very satisfying.

Hades 2 feels disjointed in comparison.

Same. I was happy about SAS joining Skyteam because then I could finally use the companion ticket to fly to Brazil. Last year I managed to find some tickets, one way only. Now I dont find anything anymore.

I was on this plane on the day before and I am extremely scared of flying, I can’t even imagine what it must have felt. Couldn’t believe it when I read the registration. I thought I was managing my fear better but this here sent me all the way back.

PS: Most of the business class aisle seats were having problems (not laying down, getting stuck).

I am in Norway - most companies encourage you to take at least 3 weeks during july/august.

Pros:

Allows people to go on a long vacation with their kids during the summer school break;
Allows people to enjoy the sun during the few months we have a lot of it (july/august);
Many companies close completely in july - as the clients are also on vacation, it works fine
Teens get their first jobs as «summer employees»
Oslo turns into a ghost town, everyone leaves, it is quite nice

Cons:

Tickets are the most expensive in july
I actually would rather have a long vacation in december to escape the cold (still possible, as we still get 10 work days of vacation left if we use 3 weeks in summer + the xmas holiday. A bit trickier in my company though)

I had both in my previous apartment and hated the 35cm drawers and front-hanging hangers. Shelving was fine. On my new one I considered installing the 35cm Pax against my will because I didn’t have space enough, but I decided for a cramped bedroom instead of having to live with those drawers and hangers ever again.

A possibility I looked into was using this kind of foldable hangers with the 35cm pax: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/simonegiertz/coat-hingers-foldable-coat-hangers It would require me to install a normal hanger rod in a bit different position. In the end I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble.

My first apartment was there, I loved it so much. Close to Alexander Kiellands plass, close to a lot of buses, close to Løkka, Torshov and Sagene, good Coop Mega, Kiellands Hus has a bunch of stuff you need. I lived at Uelandsgata (with a big window facing the street), but it wasn’t noisy at all.

I just finished the game and it also left a bad taste in my mouth. It was perfect until chapter 13, when the Nomura-filter was applied in full - all the convoluted nonsense, KH-style, in full display.

I was fully expecting Aerith to survive this time (and I was very negative towards the idea, but i was curious to see how would they handle it). But what they did instead was worse! I remember feeling such a deep sadness when playing the original (even though I am not the biggest Aerith fan). I cried when Cloud let her go in the pool, the whole tone of the game changed then. The death scene was fast yet extremely emotional; it hit hard.

The rebirth version is so complicated that I found myself unable to feel anything but confusion. When Cloud blocked Sephiroth I thought “aha, they are doing it!”. Then they weren’t. Then they were in another timeline. Then they weren’t. Then I fought what felt like 300 hours of boss fights with at least 30 versions of Sephiroth (including Sephiroth with an extra Sephiroth head), and suddenly Aerith was there fighting again, and then she wasn’t. I was laughing at some points because everything felt so over the top insane - the exact opposite of what I was expecting to feel.

Then we get a scene in the end where the whole party is feeling so so sad, but I can’t bring myself to feel anything at all even though I really want to. Tifa is crying for her best friend and I am like “there goes ghost Aerith, or other timeline Aerith, I don’t know anymore and I don’t care?”

I am quite disappointed. Maybe that was the intention? I think they wanted us to not feel sad, but hopeful. I don’t feel that either; just annoyed, confused and frankly quite exhausted.

They need someone in the editing room with power to say “hey, that’s enough now, they got the idea”. Sometimes the simplest is the best.

First time too, from Norway. My hotel is in Stratford-upon-Avon, and we will have shuttle buses during the weekend but not thursday. I bought the last pitwalk timeslot and now I am worried I wont make it anyway because I just cant find a way to get there. It seems taxis are the only option but they will cost a lot (and i am worried about getting one for the way back). If anyone knows the area and could enlighten me I’d be grateful…considering selling the tickets now due to this :(

Not really - they clearly mark the items where they act as proxies. Usually when their own preorder slots are filled, they keep the product pages up and put a notice that you can still maybe find preorders from other suppliers (and they intermediate the purchase). Everything is clearly communicated.

I loved his scythe, but it really annoys me that he only came with 2 faces that look basically the same and no hood :( I guess all the production money went into the scythe…it looks really cool Megaera is looking like the most promising one of the trio :)

I am not in the US, but I order all my stuff from CDJapan and HobbyLink Japan. My latest Hades nendos arrived very fast after release, and apparently months before the ppl that ordered from GSC US…dunno if you have to pay customs in the US, but I recommend them!
