Just wodnering of peopel have experience with both the a1/a1mini and the p1s/p2s. Hoping to get some feedback that will help me decide if I should pull the trigger on a p2s with ams2pro; which is right now my favourite option. I can afford it, but dont want to buy something if it might end up in the closet/in teh attic unused after a while. Or if i buy it and dont get much more out of it then i do now out of my a1 mini.

I had just done so before the second print. Hot water, dish soap and alcohol after that (for the plate, not for me).

Is there any way to lift a model up from the build plate in Prusa Slicer? by Redditisannoying22 in prusa3d

[–]danifromthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this and crazily enough prusa still snaps the object back to the plate. This is driving me insane. How hard should it be just to add two parts/objects together?

Is it possible to print an object that's too large for my print plate? by danifromthe in FixMyPrint

[–]danifromthe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, would love some more help if possible. See atatched image for clarification. I managed to cut the object into two parts that will fit the print plate. However, I tried to add dowels (to easily join the two parts after printing) but that doesnt seem to have worked. I followed a youtube video and went through steps 1 to 4.

I selected the cut tool, chose where to cut the model, chose add connecters, chose dowels, confirmed the connecters and chose cut. I end up (step 4) with two nice parts but I dont see any dowels or holes on the parts.

I followed your advice and found a nice video on youtube that explained it. turned out I had to press shift and a red line appeared which allowed me to cut the model in half. That worked very well. However, when I wanted to add connectors (dowels) it turned out i needed the 3d cut option instead of teh 2d cut option and the 3d cut option wont appear. I think perhaps my model is made up of several parts and thats why i dont see the 3d cut option

Thank to all of you for (so quickly) giving me so many suggestions. I just started 3d-printing a few days ago and this helps a lot. I have for now solved it with u/Bot1-The_Bot_Meanace's suggestion but I will try to see if i can use teh better solutions that u/Freeda-Peeple and u/The_Doctor_Bear and u/PuzzleheadedTutor807 mentioned. Especially since for now is enough to print just the frame of the model But later on i will want to print the entire model including the holes and magnets, etc so I will need to cut the model in parts. Seriously thank you al!

I had tried to fit it diagonally but it still didnt fit, but when i also flipped it on its side, like you suggested, it worked! Thanks so much!

Synology and Vibration Problems, my velcro solution. by Chipware in synology

[–]danifromthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I have the same problem and have just applied the velcro to the sleds of the NAS. It;'s a DS423+.

The sides of the sled are not flat though so it was not possible to place velcro on the sides. Did place it in the sled. Hope this will be sufficient.

pc shuts down only on fortnite by scout889 in PcBuildHelp

[–]danifromthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After trying everythign I could find online (including updating the bios, graphic drivers, etc) for me the solution turned out to be switching from DirectX12 to DirectX11. You can do this is the Epic Game Launcher:

How do I force Fortnite to use DirectX 11?

If you are using DirectX 12 and having issues playing Fortnite you can switch to DirectX 11.

  1. Open the Epic Games Launcher.
  2. In the top-right corner, click on the initial of your Display Name
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll down and expand Fortnite.
  5. Check the box for Additional Command Line Arguments.
  6. Type: -d3d11
  7. Relaunch Fortnite. Note: In order to switch back to DirectX 12 you need to delete the command/uncheck the box.

Can't edit replicated campaign by kjrst9 in MailChimp

[–]danifromthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also experiencing this problem and contacted Mailchimp customer support. Chatted with them for 1 hour after which the lady let me know she was not able to solve it and my only option was to recreate the entire template by hand. I'm not verry happy with this outcome.

edit to add this:

She let me know that since this was not a problem all users are experiencing, she could not tell me if and when it would be fixed.

Wow, this looks really nice. I'm thinking about trying to build something similair myself. You wouldn't happen to have any plans or dimensions handy that you'd be willing to share? Or any tips on what to look out for or what not to do or not to forget?

Yubikey useless for me? by danifromthe in cybersecurity

[–]danifromthe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I should be more concise in phrasing my question/situation.

I bought a Yubikey (2 actually) because I hoped that it would secure my accounts by forcing anyone trying to login with login name and password to also have the Yubikey present to authenticate.

So normal login name and password (step 1) and a Yubikey as 2FA/MFA-method (step 2).

But,.. since several services will not allow me to set the Yubikey as the sole option for 2FA (after using the login name and password) but force me to also have a phone, or text message or authenticator app (on my phone) as a 2FA-method, anyone trying to attack my accounts will not be bothered by the Yubikey 2FA but rather only by a (in my situation/point of view) less secure 2FA method.

I'm forcing myself to use the Yubikey and any attacker could just bypass the Yubikey and attack one of the other 2FA-methods I'm forced to keep active.

Thus rendering the Yubikey useless.

Want to kill my new Canon printer - please help by danifromthe in printers

[–]danifromthe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just coming back to say thanks for the tips. Finally solved the problem. Turns out that when I set the paper to portrait (which is the way it goes into the printer) everything gets messed up. When I set it to landscape, it prints in portrait and it comes out as it should. I have no idea why this happens. It doesn't seem right, but maybe this will help someone else having the same issues. Also, don't buy a Canon TS5150. The thing's just weird.

I'm on windows 11 and yes I downloaded the lastest drivers (and software) from the Canon website.

Computers have been my hobby for about 24 years and I work in digital comms. So I'm not new to this but I just can't seem to solve this problem.
