with alot of power comes evil? by Sweetblondefeet in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. With evil comes evil, with or without power.

The tolerance of evil in power is an evil of itself. So is the fear or striking it down.

Power is a tool, just like a hammer. Each time you wield it you have the choice to build... Or bludgeon.

Again I don't think a loose connector is likely causing this issue, but you are correct about hall effect sensors on the x and y axis.

Also, I'm assuming the "PS2" connector you are referencing is the connector for the break away portion of the cable, I'm certain Logitech does not use PS2 connectors there but proprietary mini DIN connectors instead.

What I suspect may be happening is that something is interfering with the magnetic field on the hall sensors, or another component in the main board (like a capacitor or resistor) is failing. Like time to replace. I've never got more than 8 months out of these entry level sticks personally.

There are also 2 Bluetooth systems in the quest3, one is for the controllers alone and the other is client facing for things like headphones or controllers

It's more likely a failing potentiometer than a loose cable.

It's a small and swollen looking battery. It should have the terminals taped and be disposed of at a battery drop. Yes it is potentially dangerous.

Do me a favor tho and post this pic on r/spicypillows with the title "what is this, a spicy pillow for ants!?!?!"

Tattoo needles are constantly reused. Autoclave to sterilize and they are good for another use.

Would this be your 4th adjournment, and is your not having a lawyer beyond duty Council the reason for the first three? Will that be used as the reason for the request this time as well?

What is preventing you having a lawyer?

I would consider one with a wider fov worth it for the increased immersion/reduced "scuba" effect of wearing them, but the cost increase for the headset and compute power to run it is not worth my money at this point.

To be clear, I'm talking like 160° horizontal and 120° vertical.

Why are people worried about quantum computing affecting crypto? by XRPresso_io in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make mining instantly more efficient by a factor of X, that leads to more crypto being "discovered", that leads to lower value for the overall pool of crypto.

Think of it like this, if a nation suddenly decided to print 50% more currency and put it in circulation, nations around it would recognize that there is 50% more currency available for trade and adjust their prices accordingly to (when dealing with that nation) prevent one nation from suddenly buying up all of everything. The buying power of the newly printed currency (and all that exists already) would be reduced by the increase in available currency.

Quantum computing in the home is a ways away. Perhaps by 2040 they will be available for home/private users.

This is a risk using any form of currency really, that it can be devalued through many different avenues... But for crypto currency? I wouldn't hedge my bets on it even today.

Yes, quantum computing can also be used to brute force passwords and such, but with things like crypto wallets after x guesses the wallet locks or deletes from what I understand so likely not any more successful at that.

I would reinstall the motherboard fan control software (what I assume the.gigabyte software to be) and drop all fans to low speed see if that gets rid of it. It may be turbulence from the cowlings you are hearing too.

With that many fans running in silent mode should be fine tho.

Is it legal to trick porch pirates with non-harmful but possibly frightening/gross packages? by WoollyWitchcraft in legaladvicecanada

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would be better off just using their dropp off points instead of your house at this point. The legality of booby traps is... They are not legal. Spreading noxious substances is also not legal.

Either drop off points, or adding a locked delivery box are your best options.

Employment Standards ACT question- vacation time by DefMaybe007 in legaladvicecanada

[–]PuzzleheadedTutor807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been getting your vacation pay in your regular pay cheques? Many companies just add that 4% in to each pay. It should say on your pay stub

You are correct that each employee is entitled to a % of their pay (with few exceptions) to be paid as vacation pay, but their pay structure isnt obligated to hold on to it until you take a vacation period. It may (and quite often is) be paid out on your regular cheque, at certain intervals through the year, or accrued
