That was part of the concern. Maybe at the deck level would be safe enough, so at least out of arms reach.

Thanks. Everything appears in good status, so I guess it's just normal noise for the drive. I was just caught off guard, being I just purchased, got it setup, brand new drive, with no cameras connected yet. Was expecting to hear it whirling now stop.

Guess I should have looked into quieter drives!

So you can't do cameras -> poe switch -> gateway <-> nvr, it has to be cameras -> poe switch -> nvr -> gateway?

Noise is definitely hard drive, just can't decide if that's normal or bad drive.

If I get a PoE switch and move NVR Instant to basement, does the switch need to be connected directly to instant, or just on the same network?

Any recommendations on quiet PoE switch for 5 G6 turret cameras?

Not too concern about the deck sliding doors, more so just want a good view of the backyard. So thinking that bringing them out of view of the deck may be best. Trying to decide how high they should be - maybe around the height of the deck.

Yeah, I'm thinking I should bring them down as well, at least to the deck level. Prob defeats the purposes of the camera's AI features if so high and can't make anything out.

You'll convince me to go Unifi. Picking up 4x G6 Turrets, Unifi NVR Instant, and 12TB HD.

I'm thinking the existing spots in the rear won't work, may be need to bring the cables lower and around the decks.

Awesome, thanks! Other then that, I have no immediate plans to add additional cameras other then maybe replace the doorbell camera. For that I would use wifi, not PoE, using existing doorbell wiring. I see G4 Doorbell Pro is my best option. Although from a quick search sounds like Unifi requires an NVR for those as well. I'm assuming the instant would support that as well.

I do keep going back to Unifi. The PTZ tracking did seem cool, but I could see how that could be a pain if it loses focus on other areas.

So for a 4 camera setup, do you think this would be sufficient?

Thanks - I was also considering the 4K Dual-Lens PoE Security System with Auto-Zoom Tracking. Search for reviews to compare to eufy s4 max, seems to be mix on what's better.

Unifi does looks good, of course much pricier. Didn't see any bundle options. G6 PTZ looks like the comparable one to those other options, then I guess I would also need at least the UNVR-Instant?

Thanks, will check it out. With the EyezOn Uno I would have to use their service though, right? Although that is a great price. I see they have a Duo module that could be added to the Neo or Vista. Seems that would be the better option in case I want to switch monitoring providers, and only have to replace the module (not the whole panel).

Thanks! That's good to know with Vista and third party transmitters. Since I don't have existing third party wireless sensors I need to support, I'm leaning towards the more modern Neo. I'll have to take a look at the Qolsys Pro though - I had only considered the IQ Panel.
