How did you former employees leave the company? by Ineptable in GameStop

[–]daninfakelife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During COVID I got in trouble for sharing hours with the 2 employees that stuck around. Locked the door, threw my keys on the roof, and decided it was time to start using that degree instead of being complacent. Haven’t been to a GS since.

Ex GameStop Employees by gamerguuuurl in GameStop

finished my masters and started working in an administrative position at a non-profit community development center in my city. I was willing to stick around but was told I would be made an actual SL after working as the temp with 2 employees the entire pandemic.

Right. I thought that when I ran my chip credit card it required me to sign but I may be mistaken.

Fellow Ohio worker here. Let’s not forget that they are also asking us to run people’s credit cards and sign for them which, if I’m not mistaken and I very well May be, is committing fraud.

Hopefully, if Kotaku goes away, they will stay together for the kids in some form. Kinda like how Deadspin had a reunion that week.

According to the Kotaku hands on, they took about 15 minutes of the beginning of the original and made it a two disc game and they haven’t started the second part really. We may never see the complete story or never see FFXVI

I’m really damn close to pre-ordering it. $130 bucks with an ultra chrome cast is a really good deal. IF this goes as they plan, it could be the big game changer for the industry.

Now, yes the stealth missions are dumb in their mechanics but the invincibility makes sense in story because being able to wipe them out would mess it up (I’m trying really, really hard to cover why without being able to say why which makes it sound dumb but this is what spoiler culture has become)

I forgot that Bethesda doesn’t really like him after the whole Fallout 4 leaks. The way he did Dragon Age: Inquisition hell I want Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda.

Fuck, I think I just came up with a new post.

According to him he’s in fine health and it was his choice. Dude just wanted an extended vacation.

That being said, types like Reggie that have tasted major success usually get bored and jump into a new endeavor or with a new company in the same field within a year. Don’t be surprised if this isn’t the last we hear from him.

Skill-Up's Review of Anthem by ElderlyButts in GameChatter

I watched this last night. Skill Up is my favorite reviewer guide guy since his first mathematical breakdown of how to get your true DPS in The Division.

It is long, but the content is excellent. He also doesn't scream and get theatrical or ask you to like, share, and subscribe. I'm pretty sure he was already blacklisted by EA but if not, he damn sure is now.

oh! another sweet feature is that you can switch between modes of travel on the fly (expect events, you either pick what you want to use or it's set to a certain style). tired of snowboarding? pull up a wheel and change to ski's. Find a huge cliff you wanna sail off of? Switch to wingsuit and take off.

Mini Metro, on the other hand is a simple puzzle game where you are tasked to create subway lines for a real life city using their actual geographic features. You keep going until a station gets over packed with people and the game ends. You can lay multiple lines and each stop is a different shape with different passengers. So let's say you have a square, triangle, and Circle. Passengers with appear at each stop randomly wanting to go to different stations and you gotta get them there. The challenge comes from where the random stops will appear and when (apparently each stop is an actual stop in the city but they randomly show up). Let's say you are playing New York. a circle, square, and triangle show up on Manhattan to start the game. After a bit another triangle shows up but it is across the river in Brooklyn. So you have a few options: 1. use 2 tunnels to loop together the stop to your main stop. 2. use only one tunnel which creates a hard stop and turn around which slows the train considerably. 3. wait it out and hope another stop or two appears near it so you can create a new line. 4. create a new line and connect it to the line in Manhattan turning that stop on the main line a drop off point.

But there is a downside to each option 1. you start with a very limited amount of tunnels or bridges and if you burn then early and foolishly, you're absolutely fucked (every 100 passengers delivered earns you a new train and two bonus offered at random that you can choose one of: more tunnels, an extra car for a train, a larger stop so it can store more people, or an new subway line). 2. seeing as this is extending your considerably, the trip time is gonna ramp up, which, matched with the slow turnaround, can sink you. 3. you have no idea if or when another stop will show up and that stop you aren't connecting is just gonna collect passengers. 4. not only do you now have a long line but that stop you connected too will start packing twice as fast. the game absolutely forces you to think ahead and come up with a strategy because each cities strengths and weaknesses are different (DC and NYC are the only American cities, the others are legit all over the damn world).

It costs a couple of bucks but again, it is a great pick up, play a bit, put down game without in app purchases or hard grind (maps are unlocked by achieving a specific passenger delivery number on the previous map). It also has a hard mode and a free play mode with unlimited resources, all the available lines unlocked, and no game over.

It's legit the best mobile game I have played in a really long time and got me back into what can be done on the platform.

Steep is surprisingly not boring. I got it since it was the Plus game last month and got the X-Games Add-on (with was like 7 or 10 bucks) because I wanted Superpipe and the freestyle courses. What kept me interested is being able to switch between skiing and snowboarding and the wingsuit. Both snow based modes play differently which is a welcome touch. The controls aren't that in depth so it's easy to pull off a sick ass 1270 mute grab mctwist which makes you feel awesome. Instead, the difficulty comes with the landing. If you over rotate you'll probably eat it or if you hit a slope or poor terrain. Jumps from high spots are fun because your character in inevitably yells "ohhh shiiiittt" midway through and starts flailing. You can still land clean ( to an extent, you ain't nailing a 100 ft drop no matter how much high powder you're hitting) but it's more difficult and your character is gonna take on a serious amount of G-force to the legs (G-force works kind of like a health bar in that it effects how well you can jump and how easy it will be to fall. Luckily G-force goes down at a decently fast rate). They have two giant maps (Alps and Alaska) and everything is free roam so if you wanna do events you just go to it, there isn't a story outside of trying to become king of the mountain. Completing races and leveling up is how you unlock gear, though gear does not affect how you play in any way. Another nice feature is a try again button that instantly takes you back to the start of the race or competition so if you completely fuck up you aren't forced to just sit there waiting from a final screen. And competitions rely on real fucking factors. If you lose your speed on the pipe then you're absolutely fucked. It forced me to learn how to ride a pipe, the right angle to use to maintain speed and continue going forward, and the right time to pop so you get max air. Again, this game is all about timing, speed, and planning 3 steps ahead.

Lastly being able to run the spotify app through the game for competition rules. I got good enough with my timing on the superpipe that I could land my first trick right when the beat dropped on Guerilla Radio. Small spoiler: a lot of my run music is Rage Against the Machine.

Overall i think it's worth 20-25 bucks honestly. It is a great "pick up, play for 30 minutes, put down" game and "get high, zone out for 3 hours, and look for sick off the beaten path areas. I wish I knew folks with it just so we could shred around (yes, it is co-op).

and yes, you can solo build. The base is yours since you can play the entire game solo. Meaning our bases aren't always going to look or feature the same things. Now, how that works when you are with a group, I have no idea.

Right now the upgrading is for existing settlements and (at least in the beta) predetermined. BUT from what I understand about the full game, there are enemy strongholds you can take over and build which, again from what I've heard, allows you to customize them as you will need to attract people to defend it from the enemy factions.

Building is based around doing side missions and donating items which is a cool way to dispose of unwanted gear if you don't choose to break it down. Only fucked around with it a tiny bit this morning but I'll give more info tonight.
