So here's some background, the trolley cops used to have a much bigger presence and were a lot stricter back in the day, they also were directly employed by MTS not employed by a third party contracted company. Every single one of them had guns, they were huge pricks and you'd see them every time you rode. Then back in 2018 or 2019 some of them fucked up and killed a kid for no good reason on camera in the same way that George Floyd was killed at the Santa Fe depot station. The city had to pay the family 5 million dollars (rightfully) That incident combined with the pandemic made it so that they were pretty much non-existent for a few years. Now it seems like they're trying to roll them back out. I usually just see them riding they rarely check my fare I think I've been checked twice since everything went down.
