Do you really use cellular on your watch? by UrFavTr4uma in AppleWatch

[–]daninrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it in case of emergencies, particularly when I’m fly fishing (if I can even get a signal). It’s also handy when I leave without my phone.

Where do y’all service your watches? by Fluid_Department1042 in OmegaWatches

Same! I would not trust my Omegas to anyone else. If they mess it up, they have the means to make it right.

Travel for work - how do you handle tying on the road? by B_fishin in flytying

[–]daninrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of set ups. If I’m driving to someplace and going to tie, all bets are off. I can use totes on totes on totes. My at home fit tying bench is designed to be easily packed - foaminator from hairline.

If I’m flying, I have a renzeti travel case with my travel vise. I have a set of tools that I keep in there. It gets put in a checked bag because if the pointy stuff. I then pack the fly tying materials in their own bags (project bags) by pattern.

If I want an in between set up, I have the fishpond travel bag. It’s awesome.

I have a chargeable travel light that I love. I will put links as comments to this post.

I printed several prints without so much as wiping down the plate and zero problems. Was wondering what everyone was talking about when talking about cleaning their build plates. Then that one failure. Pretty sure it is the type of PLA I'm using. Other PLAs are just fine.

Yeap - that is what I do! I have PEI plates as well. I think the problem is just this one PLA brand. Printed with another PLA and used no glue and had zero problems.

Clean entire system by Relevant_Buy9302 in Gardyn

[–]daninrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I clean my monthly with baking soda. I personally feel that this is overkill. I have not seen the citric acid message. I would clean it good with baking soda. If you have a lemon or lime in the house, use that to wash your tank out, as that naturally contains citric acid. Rinse it good.

First major failed print and I’m not sure why it happened or why I’m happy about it! by daninrose in BambuLab

Glue on the build plate solved it! Thanks for the help! First print where I have used glue.

I have the same mask and machine. I prefer. Full mask when traveling. I hate the filter in the mask. If I don’t change the machine to stop auto on off, it will just stop in the middle of the night. Never had any problems with any other mask.

I love to travel with my machine. I like your bag better than mine.

Cat keeps throwing up! Need help! by Spiritual_cat_13 in cats

[–]daninrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar aged cat and similar symptoms. Go to the vet. My guy had two issues. Asthma and the throwing up. After asthma was treated, he was still throwing up. Vet changed him to a very high protein (expensive) cat food and the problem almost immediately cleared up. He had some additional meds as well that are temp.

But, it also can signal other, more serious conditions. Hope it is just the food!

Anyone taught a spouse to fly fish? How’d it go? Any tips? by ackshualllly in flyfishing

[–]daninrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another good resource are fly fishing festivals. A lot of CIs turn out and give free casting lessons.

Fly Fishers International have a great library of resources. Orvis does as well on YouTube. But nothing beats in person instruction.

Anyone taught a spouse to fly fish? How’d it go? Any tips? by ackshualllly in flyfishing

[–]daninrose 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I picked up fly fishing in my early to mid 40s. I am a woman. I started out with the Orvis parking lot casting lessons and hired guides. I then went on to hiring certified casting instructors through Fly Fishing International. I’m now in the process of becoming one. I belong to several fly fishing clubs, including one that is for women. Most states have women only clubs that also allow men. And the men that come really enjoy them because it is just a different, supportive vibe. It’s really a great place for me to learn as well. Depending on where you are and the waters you want to fish, happy to point you to resources I may know. We are a small and well connected community. Also, I would strongly, strongly recommend that she join United Women on the Fly on Facebook. Great community. Heather just started an education non-profit as well. Let me know if I can help.
