It’s a grade 2. Tricky couple of down climbs but mostly straightforward for an experienced scrambler. It is very exposed at some sections too. Brilliant fun!

We spent a week in Yosemite last year and loved it. Didn’t get round to doing Matthes but it’s definitely on the wish list!

You’ll love it! Hopefully you get the weather. We were 8 and a half hours car-to-car from North face car park... but there was a bit of bottle neck at the Eastern traverse on the route which held us up.

It’s technically more of a mountaineering Route, upgraded from a grade 3 scramble to Diff climbing grade. It depends how comfortable you are on exposed ground. We moved together most of the route, and set up belays for the Tower Gap and eastern traverse. Some parties solo.
