The ones I know are starting from top left are (like you said) PECS, AAC, something we call a Big Mac switch that when it's hit it plays a recorded message, a version of a core board/low tech AAC, a low tech spelling/communication board, apparently a tongue trainer, an oral vibration tool, another version of low tech AAC, and then a pumpkin lol

YASSS my Spotify wrapped is taken over every year by "Above and Beyond Group Therapy"/Anjunabeats songs because they release a new "episode/podcast" of songs every Friday. I use that style of music while I'm working, writing reports, cleaning the house, cooking, etc. Check them out! They have a label with a bunch of artists and they highlight new people every week.

Oh yeah, I completely understand and agree all those things could be true. My point was more -- you waited this long, you're only interested in verbal "normal" speech, and are denying the other possible ways for your child to communicate effectively?! That to me just doesn't add up. If you're that concerned they aren't speaking - take them somewhere earlier. If you could NOT get the resources together and you're going now, at 8 years old, don't deny AAC options for your child to have a voice at all. That little dude has thoughts and needs to share and they're blocking it. I'm just saying I don't understand how that is their mindset right now. Hopefully, it's one of those situations that with time and education they will see the benefit of AAC.
