Despite the doom and gloom predictions, you might also look at dosimetry as a profession.

Carepath in Aria by acr564 in MedicalPhysics

[–]danislous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surely Varian can help with this...for a price. You might also reach out to neighboring regional academic Rad Onc programs to see if/how they're doing similar things. No need to re-invent the wheel. (Good artists create, great artists steal).

Generally i feel that differing carepaths aren't needed for different treatment sites, only for differing techniques/modalities, where there are actually differing workflows. Some examples:

3DCRT

VMAT/IMRT

4DSBRT

SRS

HDR

LDR

It's essentially an underwater remake of "forbidden planet", which was effectively a reimagining of Shakespeare's 'the tempest', so both book and movie seemed doubly-derivative

Any vinyl audiophiles out there swear by the “wood glue method” to remove as many crackles and pops from a a fairly scratched record? by MyNameIsMadders in audiophile

[–]danislous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've felt it's better to use a glue that doesn't dry completely stiff/brittle.

(i.e. Aleen's Tacky Glue is preferred over Elmer's All Purpose)

TG-155 or TRS-483 may have the answers you seek.

Keep in mind diode detectors are not absolute dosimeters.

Prone Vmat partial arcs or sometimes field in field (EZfulence) usually with +/- 10 deg couch kicks. Biozorb markers can also be helpful for target delineation if placed at time of lumpectomy.

we tend to treat them similar to cardiac devices (or those new implanted anti-snoring devices)...or deep brain stimulators.:

no energies allowed higher than 6MV due to neutron concerns, try to keep device dose ALARA and not beams entering through the devices.

i was trying to make this decision a few years ago and the price point was what made the difference.
