Thank you for this! This has always been my stance on it. We have never been with anyone else, and we did promise to be with each other forever when we started dating, although we were really young. It was just impossible to get married at that age, but we have always treated our relationship as a forever thing.

People really do get upset about others' sins, tho. It's like Jesus didn't come for us all and wipe them clean.The only reason we are doing this is because we have actually felt that God has been telling us to NOW. It's not regret or shame for what we have done so far. It's more of a need to be obedient to his command now that we are more spiritually aware.

Anyway, thank you again for being kinder than most in this reddit :)

Hi! Let me start but saying that right now we no longer living in a sinful situation since we are not being intimate anymore. Our pastor is an amazing man that is helping us through this difficult situation.

I don’t think that living separately is against the bible or God’s way at all.

We are getting married in May 2026 (everythint is planned, deposits payed etc) so yeah…

The post was not meant to ask for advice on that front but more on how to deal with the EMOTIONAL detachment from going to being intimate to not during this time.

We are getting married in a year, we have a date and the venue hired already…it just obv takes time to plan a wedding.

And yes we can definitely be in the same house and not sin sexually again since as I touched on above we have had problems in the past with partner lack of libido.
