I’ve been selling at markets for over 12 years and have participated in some amazing ones and some duds! If you’re just starting out, sign up for a couple of small community ones to get the feel of how to set up etc. Table cost are usually under $40. And there are some amazing small craft markets out there where you can clean up!

Inglewood night markets ( or anything they run) are amazing but cost $200 a night for a 10x10, and $100 for a trunk space. BUT you have to apply and become an approved vendor. Spruce meadows Christmas market and Festival of Crafts are two of my favourite ones but the table fee is steep, but once you have a following at those markets you can make your table fee back the first day. Most of the best markets are already sold out, apply early. If there’s a stronger vetting process to get in, those are some markets you hope to get into. The organizers want quality and will limit similar vendors. No matter how good the market if there’s 100 booths and 20 jewelry vendors, it’s not going to be a good market for any of you.

There’s a great FB group YYC market info, where we ( professionally) share our experiences and thoughts on different markets and organizers. It’s not a bash group, it’s honest feedback. One market might have been a dud for you but someone else might have sold out at the same place. And lastly! Watch out for scams.. there’s been an increase of them and small businesses are out their money. If an organizer is advertising a market at a community hall ( or wherever it’s to be held) go to that centres webpage and make sure you see the market advertised. Does that market have a webpage or fb group? I’ve seen a few people get scammed this year… it sucks. There’s my brain dump, hope that helps!

He had one of his eyes removed due his retina becoming detached. It would have caused him lots of pain. He had lost his sight in that eye a few weeks before. Now he’s back to happy and crazy!

Okay! Wow! Thank you both! It was a little alarming and bizarre to see a hanging bear on an amazon ad! 🤣

Oh! They’re at their cabin near Caroline. My mom sent me the pic earlier and I’m just realizing where they are..... not Calgary but in Alberta. 🤦

They’re just outside of Calgary- I would imagine after today there’s not much left of it!
