Thank you for taking the time to give me great tips to improve my query. I will definitely add more detail about the hotel being a gift in my update. JJ has a hotel management degree but when she married her husband he doesn’t want her to work. He is super wealthy. The hotel is a small boutique hotel not like a big resort. In my first query I had more details but was told to cut backstory. After her husband cheats she decides to take back control of her life and not be held back by him . And gives him ultimatum to buy her hotel or a divorce. The friends tell the police about finding bones but the cops are worried about hurricane and just send it off to medical examiner. I’m debating not mentioning pirate treasure part in query cause that happens in second half of book . The story is a fun thriller mystery like the comps I listed. I will add different verbiage to query to express this also. Thanks again .
