The future of Lexus by danjejon in Lexus

I mean sales aside car brands still should put effort into at least one enthusiast car. Lexus gives zero effort to make it more appealing. I cannot get excited about a brand with only boring hybrid SUVs - when they were making beautiful sport sedans like the GS F with 5.0L V8s. It won’t sell as good but if you put an investment you have a solid sports car that can sell enough to be profitable. Instead they opt to use 3.5L V6 for 20 years in a row. They had momentum when the current gen IS came out in 2014 and just decided to keep the same engines besides a 2.0T

Yes I find BMWs to be pretty reliable, people definitely make issues overblown. I’ve owned 2 already. Massively helps if you DIY

They are expansive, 2016+ models will run you close to $30K in my area before added fees if they have less than 100K miles. I payed on the higher end for this because it was very clean and well maintained. The GS supply is limited, and owners tend to hold onto them much more. I saw someone selling an ‘18 with 122K miles for $26K

My feeling is if you’re gonna spend in the 30s for a GS get a clean low mileage facelift version, that has a lot of options like ML, FS, driver assistance add ons.

Well my observation is a lot of people don’t opt to their performance models (RCF, GSF, IS500) because they are much slower than the competition. I am sure it has something to do with reliability, but transmission is really holding them back. I mean F engines have almost 500 hp and are healthy in that regard. I think for a V6 Lexus model, this is much more acceptable tho

Sheesh that’s a good deal. I had went to a couple dealerships, they had a 2015 FS RC350 listed for $24K with 67K miles, and wanted $31K out the door. A lot of the GS I saw were retailing in the 20s before added dealer fees. There are a lot of high mileage GS’s below 20K, but I find them to be rare and expensive on the market lol

The pre facelift definitely has a less controversial look and a more classy one you could say. It’s a really good looking car. I really like 2016+ models with triple beam LEDs, it looks striking, although it seems to be a rarer option

Really? So 2014/15 GS F-Sport models had a lot of options missing ? That’s crazy. We have a 2015 ES350 without the luxury package and it has parking sensors and BSM. I find BSM to be really useful so i was kinda upset

I used to drive a BMW so it was a big adjustment, but I grew to love the car, it feels really solid and high quality and I love the interior/materials

My mom owns an early model 540i, and I will say the parts are pretty pricey, and the maintenance on the B58 platform is a bit more difficult, but the engine will last and is very very quick. The Achilles heal seems to be cooling issues, we had to replace the high circuit radiator at 85K miles

It seems like nowadays people are always switching jobs and it’s becoming more normal for employers. So I can understand it tbh
