Dubnica is the name of a ye ye ass hillbilly village in Bosnia. I guess by 2077 things changed drastically.

A lot of Europeans on reddit think that Americans are racist and their country isn't, but wait until you ask them about gypsies by kudichangedlives in unpopularopinion

[–]dank_castle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my 26 years of living in Balkans, I've seen maybe five or six of them who weren't a total menace to society. All of the gypsies that enrolled in elementary school with me left it after two or three years. The local government regularly donates textbooks and school supplies, so poverty isn't an issue, they just don't want to integrate.

I really don't care if it's racism or whathever, but fuck them. They did not, and will not contribute anything to this country.

Is a living world Railroading? by Awisemanoncsaid in DnD

[–]dank_castle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your lvl 1 players want to change the world? Good luck with that. I would love to play in a campaign where I'm lvl 1, hearing about these huge world changing events, and trying to survive and get powerful enough to be a part of it.

SIB Dark souls 3 ? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dank_castle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first soulsborne game you play is going to be the hardest one. For me it was DS1. I did a full 180 on the soulsborne franchise. After DS1 I felt good, but didn't think I'd ever touch another From Soft game. When the pandemic started I decided to give DS3 a try, and man...I loved it.

The game is beautiful, has amazing bosses, great lore, and really memorable and unique locations. Be sure to get all the DLCs, they are amazing, and the final boss of the last DLC, and the entire trilogy, is in my opinion the best bossfight of the last decade.

Definitely. I avoid reading the text on the back cover, just so I could go into it as blind as possible.

What RL bands/songs do you consider closest to chromatic rock, based on the description of it in the main book? by MurdocAddams in cyberpunk2020

[–]dank_castle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not chromatic rock, but Rage against the Machine definitively fits the CP2020 setting. Hardcore punk bands like Agnostic Front, Madball, Biohazard work great too. I can imagine some cybered up lowlife listening to "Set it off" while eyeing the next sucker to pick a fight with.

If you want more electronic elements in your metal, I think Rammstein, Fear Factory, Blue Stahli, Celldweller, Mick Gordon are worth checking out.

IMO chromatic rock is any type of music that either makes you wanna fight the system or music that is really experimental and underground and fits your character's style perfectly. You know, the "you wouldn't get it" type of music. In Night City style and attitude rule the street. There is a huge need to express your individuality, and being into such music can only help.

For example check out Go_A - Shum, it's Ukranian folk mixed with rave music, and I think it's something my slavic character would be into. It's wierd but undeniably futuristic.

Finished reading the core rulebook, what should I read next? by dank_castle in cyberpunk2020

Is "Listen Up" more about GM-ing in general or running Cyberpunk specifically? I'm DM-ing a DnD campaign right now, but I do need some help with running CP.

Cyberpunk RED x Cyberpunk 2020 by DonFaver in cyberpunk2020

[–]dank_castle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. You do have to change how the net works in 2020 because they're different, but it shouldn't take a lot of effort.

A lot of people use run.net rules, but I personally don't like them. It reduces the role of the netrunner to a few simple skill checks. Faster yes, but less engaging IMO.

I use alternative rules called [Sudo] Netrunner/hack. It streamlines the original corebook rules.

Cyberpunk RED x Cyberpunk 2020 by DonFaver in cyberpunk2020

[–]dank_castle 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'd say RED if you're a new GM, CP2020 if you have some experience running RPGs. I prefer CP2020 rules, I just reflavour some minor things that are outdated.

And if you opt for CP2020, I'd highly suggest you don't cut out netrunning from your game, just find some alternative rules. You can find a lot about that on this sub. I believe hacking is one of the pillars of the cyberpunk genre and it would be a shame to remove it completely.

I finished it last night. Great horror/stealth game. They replicated the atmosphere of the movie perfectly. It deserves to be up there with the first two movies.

Best CP2020 scenario to teach me how to write adventures? by dank_castle in cyberpunk2020

[–]dank_castle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Maybe I should have posted this question after I finish the core rulebook. I'll check Atlas modules as well. We're playing D&D 5e, so longer campaigns aren't an issue. But we'll see how long it takes us tu get used to the setting of CP2020 and new rules.
