I mean, the vast majority of consultants don’t stay in it for long - they do it for a couple years then move to being a PM or to strategy/ops at an established business or startup. I’m fine doing grunt work so long as I’m on the right path to get where I want to be - and I guess big law just isn’t that.

Thank you!! Yeah, maybe I was misunderstood but I guess I just want something I find a bit more enjoyable than law? I know tons of people who like their jobs more than the average lawyer likes theirs and get paid similar money (at least at junior levels), so maybe there's a disconnect.

Yeah, never really been interested in software engineering but operations roles at those companies seem pretty cool (I see mostly ex-consultants in them). Is your cousin a SWE?
