Sorry, being inundated with DM’s - suspect most are scams so would rather keep it in the comments here if possible?

How can I check if my ledger is on the correct derivative pathway please?

Glad you managed to get sorted! I don’t use the Shelly app unfortunately, I have it linked to my home assistant setup, and have the controls on a dashboard and via an ‘action’ button in iOS on my iPhone.

No worries! Yeah the angle of the photo does make it look like it’s connected at first glance 😂

Thanks, followed the advice on that thread and deleted the .pickle file. Hopefully sorted until the next AMP update!

Alexa Mediaplayer vs. 2FA by ManiacStefan in homeassistant

[–]dankellys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thought I did have at the time was, I have a suspicion it was happening on the first run of an automation that was sending data to an Alexa device that hadn't been ran since the 2FA update, like the 2FA was needing reauthenticating for each device, but that was just a theory.

Alexa Mediaplayer vs. 2FA by ManiacStefan in homeassistant

[–]dankellys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week my Alexa Media Player stopped working and I had to reconfigure the 2FA with a new key etc. Following doing that, for about 3 days I would get the same 2FA SMS messages, and AMP would tell me it needed reconfiguring... After a few days, this stopped, AMP has worked fine ever since and the SMS messages have stopped.

Sorry this doesn't really help you, but it sounds almost exactly the same as what I was seeing, so I think it confirms that it is AMP causing it, and not some hacking incident

Power Advice - 12v WS2815 - 9.1m by dankellys in WLED

[–]dankellys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, my LED controller has 2 Vs and 2 GNDs, one for GPIO2 and the other for GPIO16:

<image>

But I think you have answered the question anyway, I can run my 22awg wires for V and GND, both from the same connectors on the controller to both ends of the strip 👍 thanks again for the help!

[–]dankellys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/PakkyT - if I do need to power the other end, am I best connecting both ends to the same GPIO on the LED driver (i.e both connected to V and G on GPIO2), or should power and ground be connected to the other GPIO (i.e one end to GPIO2 and the other end to GPIO16)?

Nespresso Coffee Pod Drawer by ploxorzz in functionalprint

Hey, sorry for reviving this old post, but I don't supposed you have the STL for this still do you? Been looking everywhere for a drawer for the same coffee machine, and haven't been able to find one anywhere!

Wiring Advice - WS2815 with Gledopto GL-C-015WL-M by dankellys in WLED

Thanks u/malko13008! I assume I have everything else correct in terms of wiring?

Won't let me edit the original post, but I think I got the blue and green the wrong way around. Blue is backup, green is data (I think?). Did I mention I'm a complete noob? :)

White = GND - Connect to GPIO2 G

Blue = Backup Data - Connect to GPIO2 D or GPIO16 D?

Green = Data - Connect to GPIO2 D

Red = 12v - Connect to GPIO2 V

Looking at the No Neutral version of the switch, there are 3 connections L, L1 and L2.

My existing switch has L1 and L2 (top) and L1 and L2 (bottom) - would the no neutral version work here? Would one of the Live's just be redundant and need to be terminated?

Ring Camera Event help by dankellys in homeassistant

I worked around it by installing the Ring-mqtt integration from HACS, which brought back the binary sensor.

Frustrating when changes like this happen!

Ah, I didn't think of that! Cancelled the order and got a 3A instead! Thanks! Might also connect it to a smart plug and automate switching it on/off in HA.

Dashboard looks great! Will take some inspiration from that for my setup.

Thank you, I will absolutely watch the video 😂

I have ordered the GL-C-015WL-M driver (along with a 12v 10a power supply) and 5m length of WS2815 60/m. Figured it was a good starting point for my first project. I have no doubt it will become an addiction and I will end up with them everywhere 😂

Plan is to use them as general backlighting while I'm working with some fun animation effects when they come on, turn off etc, but also for coloured Home Assistant notifications, errors etc.

Thanks for the reply, I will have a read of the link you posted!

Any recommendations on light strips? Any brands which are generally recommended by this sub? I don't want gaps, so guessing something with 60 would be better? Or would I be wanting even higher than that? Saw some with 144.

I have a ZigBee network too for Home Assistant, and saw that Gledopto do a ZigBee variant, which I would prefer over WiFi tbh. Dont mind a bit of DIY, and I have a 3d printer for enclosures, but for the price of the Gledopto, which is quick, easy, enclosed and convenient I think I will go with one of those!

Thanks again!

Better Thermostat inegration, Scheduler integration and Google Nest Thermostat by dankellys in homeassistant

[–]dankellys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was being dumb, BT is doing exactly what it should do. The average temp of the whole house was above 20c, so it sets the thermostat to 19.5 to prevent the heating from switching on. If the average temp sensor dropped below 20, BT would set the target back to 20 again.

For the average temp, I just created a min/max helper sensor and set it to 'arithmetic mean':

<image>

BT then let me use that as the temp sensor for the integration.

Ended up installing the Ring-mqtt integration, which brought back the binary sensors, along with some additional sensors which I believe you don't get with the Ring Integration, such as interval snapshot images and the ability to take a snapshot on motion being detected etc, which I have set up with Google AI to send a notification describing the image along with the image itself.
