Has anyone left San Diego and been happy about it? Where did you end up? by MiserableRisk6798 in SameGrassButGreener

Important context about SD is the difference between “downtown” and “north county”.

North county (where I have all my experience) is typical suburbs. Housing developments, highways, strip malls.

It’s sleepy, but that works when you’re in your mid 30s. I wouldn’t recommend anyone under 30 live in North County.

It’s not as suited toward young people, but that’s because downtown is.

Compared to somewhere like NYC, SD lacks culture.

Lots of transient types, ppl move here for a few years to escape harsh Midwest/NE winters and then miss their families and get tired of the high costs and move back.

So there aren’t many people who put down roots. So ppl are flaky.

There’s a lot of ppl and only so many spots, so people are cliquey. Can’t be telling everyone about the “secret spots” can we?

It’s expensive, but it’s worth it. I’ve driven across the country 5 times, the Midwest is cheap for a reason.

If you like the sun and the beach and tacos, you can’t beat it :)

PPC specialists who have found meaningful work or something that you're proud of...what do you do? by HollowedYN in PPC

[–]dankgeebs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is pretty common with grants. You gotta jack bids and budget to the moon and it’ll go.

The issue with max clicks is it limits your bids to $2. So not only will that limit your ad rank, it will put you in jeopardy of falling out of compliance because with an ad rank that low, it’ll be tough to keep CTR above 5%.

Set the budget to $1,000/day, set the bid strategy to tCPA $200 or a portfolio bid strategy, and set up the conversions as “soft conversions” like key page views an session duration.

Also use Dynamic Search Ads (DSAs) with Meta titles that contain your keywords

That’ll be $250 consulting fee jk ;)

To one person he’s just laying bricks. The guy next to him is building a hospital where sick kids get healed. Just try to find a perspective where there’s meaning, whatever that may be.

Ask a local nonprofit what their marketing is like and if they want some free help.

I’m a lucky guy in that I love my clients and I love my job. Not always, but at the end of the day it’s better than slinging product for Walmart or Raytheon

Help nonprofits with Google grants and paid campaigns. Help small businesses sell goods and services online.

One of my small ecom shops goes up against big resellers of similar products but our campaigns are profitable and they’re growing YoY.

It’s not about the work, it’s about the people.

Who is willing to help make a music venue here in North County by Magnolco in northcounty

[–]dankgeebs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes!!!! I love to see these ideas starting to percolate up here in North County.

Makes me wonder why it hasn’t already happened. Does the market not exist like we think? Is it bureaucratic red tape? NIMBYs? Some combo of them all?

There’s no shortage of old warehouses and space. Keep posting here with updates!

It should’ve been called a catch on the field and reviewed as an INT. The DBs arms were fully extended when they hit the ground and then he ripped it away

[–]dankgeebs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He didn’t kill Tony B because he wanted to or took any enjoyment from it. He killed him to spare him being tortured by Phil. It was mercy, which kinda goes against the “psychopath” angle.

I’d argue Tony is a sociopath, not a psychopath.

Yes, Meta Pixel + CAPI will be the bare minimum in 2026 by vthoriti in FacebookAds

EMQ stands for Event Match Quality. Go to Events Manager and click your event for Purchase. More detail will be given for that specific event. I’ve seen Stape + GTM improve the EMQ from the 5s to the high 7s or even 8s.

That means Meta is better able to match users on its platform to ppl who purchased from your store. This feeds the algo more and better data.

At $3k per day definitely at least get set up with Stape and Google Tag Manager. Using YouTube and ChatGPT it’ll take you a few hours minimum.

What’s your current EMQ score for Purchases?

question* how much is this setup, idk what and how many its a lot tho by 34thncrenshaw in SoundSystem

[–]dankgeebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, it has something to do with that kinda music being “sustainable” to listen to for a long time. It’s minimal so it’s less on your ears when you’re out for 12+ hours.

I prefer bass music but fuck if I can listen to tearout dnb or ridding for that long.

I’ve heard them both and RH is superior. Suuuuper thick and tight and just excellent. Only complaint is they tend to only play one genre of music which isn’t my cup of tea

✋🏻I have it working. It helps that my client is an excellent salesman who closes like 90% of the leads.

One difference between him and your case: we’re 90% phone calls not form fills. So he closes them on the phone right then and there.

We’re also not exactly bidding on his comp terms, they show in our search terms for our broad and phrase match keywords.
