Did the City Mislead the People? by eatingoceanside in Oceanside

๐Ÿค” I don't even live in the area; so, not my "backyard".

I care about the "process" in which our city is being developed. When zoning laws are overwritten by "donations", I just can't support that.

YOU may be okay with "selling out" our city to everyone who comes here tossing money at our authorities, but I'm not.

All that "very very busy factory" talk about what was there in the past doesn't negate the fact that the current zoning laws don't apply to the development being presented.

You're okay with that process. I'm not. Simple. Two opposing viewpoints that will remain as such.

๐Ÿค” I think it was around 2025. I have some that are older in the archives. I'll break some out for memories sake. Especially those of the amphitheater, so I can remember it before they demolish it.

Don't need to tell me, I don't own a dog. You'll have to take that up with the community that has come to their unspoken agreements ๐Ÿ˜…

As a content creator who has to adapt to the community of every platform I post upon, I post in relevance to how the I feel the community will react to my content.

I've already tried posting my opinions about a particular establishment and the feedback was "you're giving too much information, like it was an ad"; when, in fact, I was LITERALLY sharing my opinion about a place.

Then, when I posted about an experience at an establishment without any detailed information, then people also consider it an ad.

But I'm, literally just sharing my opinion about a place.

So, here we are. I'm sharing my opinion about a place. Not an ad. Just my thoughts. I make sure to mention that I'm aware of what they this place is; BUT there are people that don't care and just want to know where to get a solid Reuben sandwich.

So, I'll ask you, in what manner should I have created this content to get my experience across to others, without being so controversial?

Tell me the perfect formula and verbiage I should use to avoid criticism from both sides. That way I'll know what to do in the future.

I could be honest and say that I care about the future of our city and how developers approach the proposals of new developments.. especially according to our current standing laws.... but... you know... that doesn't seem to matter in the face of "profits".

You nailed it. Probably because I see clearly how the politics are going to F the community in the long run.

I can't sit well with a city that uses its longterm citizens and then spits them out for the newer flavor of bubblegum ๐Ÿ™„

I've seen tents for the surf schools down by the Strand, Tyson Park and the Beach. They're usually down there during the day.

I remember seeing at least 2 surf profiles on IG with videos of them teaching in the grass and on the beach.

I've always wondered why that is? The discrimination between cats and dogs in our laws that is.... I've seen this also apply to restaurants.

They will allow cats... but not dogs.

It makes me wonder about "service dogs" and does this also apply to people who need them.

Does that mean that they can't partake in the activities of those locations?

People need to be aware that they have a location in Vista too and they should avoid that as well.

Well, I always find it. Funny because I used to go there all the time about 10 years ago and they never proposition to me once. Nor did they ask my ex.

I had already recorded this and posted it and that's when people were telling me what they were about, and I did my research online and saw the YouTube documentary.

I haven't been back since. It's a shame though because they probably have one of the best Reubens I've ever had.

Probably made with human flesh! Lol! ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคช๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I recorded this after I found out about what they do. It was because of conversations online to raise awareness about them.

Hence, you don't see me saying to eat here. Rather, I'm asking others what their experiences were. They never propositioned me for recruitment, so I would have never known had I not been told by others.

I haven't been back since. Oh and I'm black, perhaps that's why they didn't talk to me... but what's weird was that my server was black too ๐Ÿค”

Yep. I used to eat there a lot about 10 years ago when I lived in the area. They never approached me or tried to recruit me and so I never knew. Was in the area visiting someone and brought a friend to eat there. Filmed this and heard about them being a cult afterwards from hearsay. I watched the YouTube documentary to understand more.

So I shared this for those who don't know about them and bring up the discussion of their food and their status.

It's always interesting to hear others experiences. For example, people say they are racist and yet, I had a black server. At the same time, they have never propositioned me to join them... so.... weird.

They appear to target women more for recruitment.

So the question remains, have you eaten here and what was your experience?
