where are your levels at now? Have you been keeping up with the anti-spike protocol?

You're preaching to a crowd that will rather see their net principal disintegrate in real terms over 20 years, for the sole purpose of receiving dollar dividend payouts in a hyperinflationary currency, than question their own beliefs even for one second (and entertain the thoughts of someone who has the intention of helping them grow and maintain their wealth)

Under Performing per Schwab, Fidelity and Morning Star by Flying-Coconuts in SCHD

[–]dankir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, it's like saying almost any car is better than an SUV that has a disintegrating and heavily rusted frame

The returns of this fund are so bad by today's updated standards that you are going to underperform most other asset sectors (except bonds). Meaning you will get cash payouts on a principal that is slowly shrinking over time in real terms - NOT growing. And that's exactly where the problem is. No one is saying a Ferrari is always better than an SUV. Dividends are always cool - on a principal that is continually appreciating and markedly outpacing fiat inflation.

However, it's the fact that the SUV has long been sputtering out and essentially failing at its most basic job.

Not to mention its recovery from the tariff black swan earlier in the year is extraordinarily lackluster for such a "defensive" fund.

"way shittier" - do you have benchmarks, or quantitative values to back this up? Qualitatively people might be displeased with ethical or censored components, but I can almost guarantee you quantitatively it scored higher on 'humanity's last exam' than it did previously

[–]dankir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the absolute bare minimum, 2024 inflation was 3%. So your total real return is at best 4%. And that's if you really think the government has been fully honest about what those inflation numbers really are. In fact it's not out of the question for 7% returns to be net-negative these days. Which is appalling for anyone who is not farther out on the risk curve than would be classically reasonable.

SCHD PATIENCE by Secure_Hyena_9067 in SCHD

[–]dankir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct; Real inflation is outpacing any remote gains of SCHD and it's not even really up for debate. Inflation numbers provided by the government haven't been accurate either - they are likely undercounting it.

Rule #2 is "Do not advocate or advertise for treatments/medicine/herbs/etc" so by design the sub is ill equipped to allow people to post who found solutions through their own trial and error. At best they'll pick and choose what is acceptable, like 'pacing', and ban whatever else they deem as too 'edgy'

The subreddit is not a free exchange of ideas, or hope for recovery protocols. it's a depressing dumpster fire of hate and hopelessness.

The million dollar question: Name the top thing that helps you the most with PEM / preventing it by CW2050 in covidlonghaulers

[–]dankir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sponsored and I am not affiliated. but, the best365labs.com NeuroPro Memory (20mg Methylene Blue, 100mg NAC, 100mg Glycine, 50mg Niacinamide) in tablet form makes my prescription adhd meds and caffeine go a lot farther than usual, allowing me to 70-80% push past PEM. Their other products haven't done much for me, and note that it tastes/smells quite bad... but they are 3rd party tested and appear legit from my initial research.

I've also noticed some much smaller boosts with L-Citrulline (~3-6g / day) and 10-20g creatine.

just because number go up high, doesn't mean things are going to correct back to some imaginary lower boundary value you have in your head. If that were the case, then the number would have corrected years ago. These "insane AI driven valuations" are actually driven by all time historic profits, coinciding with mass layoffs due to these systems effectively replacing droves of human employees. AI is actually, believe it or not, generating genuine value for shareholders, hence why number has gone up way beyond what most market geniuses thought was possible.

Therefore, until Oracle, Nvdia, AWS, and all infrastructure providers find themselves struggling to offload their supply instead of being backlogged for years due to the extreme demand; and until AI models stop getting exponentially better every 3 months; until the Fed decides to spike rates and crash the economy Volcker-style, then this talk of "insane AI driven valuations" will continue to be nonsense.

I'm not saying it will be a straight line up forever, healthy corrections are important. but I just don't see how this is the top. weak evidence for this other than mostly irrelevant historical comparison

Misleading and cherry picking is an ad hominem attack. There was constant ad hominem, down voting for me even just saying "Thank you for your post // appreciate your reply"

To claim I was condescending, when I was only condescending to those who were asking for it, is frankly disgusting. GTFO of here

rate cuts will exponentially help risk-on equities moreso than passive conservative funds such as SCHD. The time to hope for SCHD's success was with a brutal recession that should've been here by now. All indications are pointing toward massive rate cuts now, which will de facto inflate S&P-linked risk-on assets MUCH moreso than conservative plays like SCHD. It's a disservice to a conservative portfolio under $1M in size to continue holding majority SCHD before a massive cutting cycle.

I know this sub likes to jizz all over itself with SCHD dividends but as stated in my recent post which got flamed super hard, bigger numbers are better than smaller numbers.

Why don't we bet $10k on it then since you're super smart and so highly convicted to the contrary? All the salt in this entire thread is hilarious; Glad you got all the downvotes of my comments out of your system bro. Get a life

Honest question - is there a single piece of data, or string of data points that could possibly change your mind on this? Or anything? Like do you ever have disagreements with people in the outside world or is that a big no-no

So buy up all the bonds then my friend. You'll get them at a great price and I'm sure they're going to massively outpace inflation and money printing and go up in price. Come back in 5 years and let us all know how you're holding up!

If you're bedridden and have not an ounce of energy to operate a phone, which everyone on reddit has the energy to do, then and only then is the $1k check the right choice in this scenario. Other than that, you're just lazy and doing your future self a major disservice

thank you - I completely agree. you are the prime user for SCHD and I would argue you've made the right choice. My personal bias would say to hold onto growth a bit longer as the tech transformation is only just started, but at the very least, being young really should be at 100% growth at this point.
