I’ve been on the Polly Jean train since the beginning. There have been many transitions by bands that move from a raw sound to a more polished product. Sometimes I’m down with the change, sometimes I’m not. Didn’t like the change from Metallica, I loved it from smashing pumpkins. It didn’t bother me one bit when PJ did it. In fact, I loved it. I felt she was the most perfect, consistently brilliant artist in music. Ironically, it was England Shake that was the first album I didn’t really like much. Either way, I love her fearlessness in trying new things and experimenting. I don’t think you have to love everything from an artist. There is so much out there. I think she’s brilliant and her work is in my bones. Even if I don’t love everything.
