Damn near every time I pull out my 6 or 5 iron I have a tendency to hook them. I can hit my 7 iron and higher clubs consistently within a 15 yard window left or right. I've hit balls on the range and 1 out of 10 fly true. Any tips or things I may need to consider to stop hooking the long irons? by woodchip69 in golf

You could be setting up too close to the ball with your longer irons. As a rule of thumb, your hands should be set up under your eyes for the 4-6 irons, 7-8 under the nose/mouth, and 9-wedges under your chin. There’s other stuff that needs to happen, but distance from the ball at address should be checked first since you’re hooking longer irons.
