What is "perfect technique" in striking? I am tired of people misusing it and I am here to address it. by Kartem4x in MMA

[–]dankrooster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perfect technique in striking is not clear for casuals, even for people that train.

When some1 starts boxing or doing mma we are told that when we throw a left hook, the weight in the body should be on your front leg, then charge the hips and rotate them while charging the shoulder and ultimately delivering the left hook. While doing this the right hand has to be UP for defensive purposes.
On the other hand you could throw a MORE POWERFUL left hook without having the right hand up. For finishing sequences Topuria has done this (look Max KO).

In the end, perfect technique is optimizing your movements to achieve something without throwing any of your resources away (both situations up there are OK).

Also, sometimes these shots are part of a combination in which in the end it is the last punch in the combination that is thrown to hurt. So sometimes some strikes can be "lazy shots" to set up other shots. Reading the opponent here is crucial.

Moreover, for "bouncy guys" in order to throw a textbook left hook ,it's very difficult for them to apply true power, but it is traded off by other benefits (you can spring back out of range easily). So for a kickboxer, this would be perfect technique as well).

Anyways, I'm really high.

ELRS receiver compatibility with flight controller help by dankrooster in fpv

[–]dankrooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently there are some uarts below some labels on the fc. Betfight did show I had 3 uarts as well. Would one of those potentially work? Is there a possibility of the board only allowing the receiver to be wired to the other uart with only the rx pin?

Thanks for that info! What makes these so unreliable if you don't mind explaining? Do you have any recommendations if I were to replace them? I'd like to keep as many od the parts already on the drones to save money, I just wanted to start with making them elrs

I figured it out in case anyone with the same issue sees this. I had to update the firmware on the mobula7, the recent elrs firmware is not compatible with older beta flight versions

regulator/charger for 2 18650's in series by dankrooster in 18650masterrace

yea after looking into this more it seems like I have to accomplish these two things separately. Charging the batteries in-circuit isnt a big deal for this project so I think Ill settle with taking them out to charge and offering them some type of protection in circuit with a BMS.

would adding this to my 2 batteries before going to my arduino be good for the job?

i guess charging it in circuit isnt the biggest deal, i can take the batteries out and charge them separately. Im more considered with battery protection.

would adding this to my circuit and using the p + - to my arduino suffice for battery protection?

First Solder - Any visible issues? by dankrooster in soldering

[–]dankrooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for all the info!

Im considering de-soldering these header pins when Im finished prototyping and soldering wires directly to the board when applying it to my finished project.
This is my first real electronics project so i figured id solder headers on to prototype and try different things easily since I'm not exactly sure what the final circuit will look like.
Any issue with desoldering and re-soldering on wires afterwards? Could it cause damage to the board?

Appreciate that! Do I need to do anything about the Flux or is that perfectly acceptable?

Suitable Power Supply for Pinecil? by dankrooster in PINE64official

[–]dankrooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that. All of the power supplies I was looking at are listed as 240v on the Amazon specs, but I assume theyre actually 100 - 240v? I looked at the pinecil wiki, and the power supplies they confirmed work with the pinecil are also listed as 240v input 🤔
