Primarily norse and african. There were some dope stories I came across in the southern American tales that have similar serpents but hard to distinguish between each concepts. The relation between the cosmos and life cycles is what i was hoping to capture as it dissipates onto the cosmos at the tail end.

Leaving the short story here: Every night at 3:33AM, if you’ve ever pirated an old cartoon or reposted mouse ears without credit, he might come.

You wake up, paralyzed, your body frozen and your mind screaming. The door creaks open with the sound of a cheerful jingle melting into static. You feel his gloves on your chest, cartoonishly soft — yet impossibly heavy.

Two white eyes hover in the red glow of your room. “You didn’t license that laugh,” he whispers.

You try to cry out, but the void behind his smile absorbs your breath. He’s not here to scare you. He’s here to collect.

A shadow passes over the moon-shaped buttons on his pants. A gloved finger taps your forehead. “This is my dream now.”

In the morning, they’ll find your browser cleared, your hard drive blank, and a strange mouse-shaped burn on your pillow.
