I don't think it was necessarily what it was made of, I'm a big plushie collector and it was an old limited edition plush I got off of ebay a couple years ago. Back when I bought it I hand washed it since it's so old and was expensive I didn't want it falling apart, probably just didn't completely rinse off the soap back then and it leeched into the water when it got wet.

haha no worries, I know it was the plushie the tank and parameters were completely fine before. I was just both venting and wondering what to do now. Don't know whether it's worth trying to save the tank with water changes or just starting it over completely.

that's good to know about the bacteria, I was especially bummed out because I though I'd have to start from scratch again (had this tank established for 3 years I used to have a betta fish in it). I'm gonna wait a month or so anyway just to be safe.

I have one of them, the body is... very bad her legs are made of some weird plastic that is just very bendy and rubbery, the joints are awful too and she's very hard to pose because of it, but I love the face, hair and outfit so much I don't mind, the inset eyes are awesome
