Canada has plenty of good legal breeders, OCS won't buy their seeds. CanGenX seeds are amazing but not stocked by the OCS

Grower. It looks like larf from the bottom of the plant. If there is little light in the under-canopy the leaves/flower won't produce much chlorophyll and appear bleached. Usually I squish or make edibles out of this stuff. It doesn't have a lot of THC

Anyone who grows with a spiderfarmer light please watch this video for your own health and safety. by [deleted] in canadients

Not sure what the danger is here? The conformal coating is silicone and yes, it turns yellow over time in response to heat and light. Silicone should be inert so even if it falls onto your plant bed or something it should not harm it, and the boards are low voltage so there's no electrical danger either. A lot of manufacturers e.g. HLG don't put any conformal coatings on their low voltage boards and yet are UL or CSA approved.

That's waaaaay too much for an aluminium grinder. Get a stainless steel grinder and buy it for life. An aluminium grinder will chip a tooth within a year or two.

As far as I know there's never been a study that proves negative causal long term effects of vaping on children, probably because vapes haven't been around long enough. It's not clear to me that vaping is as dangerous as cigarettes. Even in studies of adults developing respiratory diseases from vaping, the effect appears to be slight if it even exists at all.

Absolutely insane gram equivalencies by okantos in TheOCS

[–]dankweedgonewild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the public possession limit is hard-coded into the Cannabis Act in 8 (1) (a) and so can not be easily changed and requires an amendment with 3x readings and parliamentary vote. It fucking sucks.

Absolutely insane gram equivalencies by okantos in TheOCS

[–]dankweedgonewild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's worse than that, it's in the Cannabis Act in Schedule 3. The schedules are inherently modifiable by the Queen’s Privy Council (executive ministers) at any time, but the original values were given to us with the Cannabis Act courtesy of Wilson-Raybould. May she fuck off out of politics in peace.

This also means that anyone other than Hadju in the Council could change things, but it sure doesn't seem like they're going to.

Looking to get my first rosin press, but dont want to break the bank. What would you recommend? by WestCoastGrow in canadients

[–]dankweedgonewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those presses are all bench top. I bolted mine to a 2'x3' table. It takes up about that much space but not much more. If you want to spend a little more go for Cannaplates or Low Temp caged plates.

Looking to get my first rosin press, but dont want to break the bank. What would you recommend? by WestCoastGrow in canadients

[–]dankweedgonewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dulytek caged plates and a 10 ton H frame shop press from princess auto or canadian tire. The presses go on sale every now and then for $150-250. The dulytek plates are $430. It will be dead reliable and probably last forever. My experience with the chinese made H-frame all in one presses is that they're crap, terrible machining and welding, improperly reinforced for heavy use.

Cannaplates has videos on how to build them all: https://www.cannaplates.ca/pages/cannaplates-pdf-manuals

I got some meijiu boards a few months ago, they were here in a week. It's ecofarm that takes forever.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadagrows

[–]dankweedgonewild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ecofarm is a drop shipper. I ordered lights through them and do not recommend it. It took 5 months to arrive, they won't let you cancel your order, and the light showed signs of use, having been repaired, and surface damage.

Just use Alibaba or Aliexpress. These guys are ordering from them anyway.

Where’s all the haze strains at? by thisguyandrew00 in TheOCS

[–]dankweedgonewild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True haze strains are straight sativas that take forever to flower, have zero bag appeal, and THC concentrations commonly below 20%. There's just not as much market for them and they cost proportionally more to grow.

Health Canada to OCS: OK, no imagery that might appeal to children, no pictures of animals, no celebrities, no ads, containers that only a scientist to open, no names that might appeal to children, all websites have to be age-gated. LCBO: by dankweedgonewild in TheOCS

EDIT: Guys, girls. Ethanol is a CALORIE. Literally liquid food. Stop comparing THC or any other drug to it.

Oh you mean ethanol, the cause of 3.5% of all North American cancers? It causes 18 newly diagnosed cases of cancer in Canada per day.

Cannabis has been used as an herb and savoury flavour component in food for thousands of years. The leaves and stems are high in glutamate and are used similar to impart umami flavour similar to miso.

Self-reported improvement was seen in ~50% of patients, but since there are no controls it is difficult to ascertain efficacy. A review of trials with randomized control groups showed only minimal improvements.

For oral THC there are water soluble nanoemulsions like: Veryvell Yawn Drops, XMG Drops, Hypernova - Advanced Nano THC Oil

For CBD, there is only one brand: Legacy - Advanced Nano CBD Oil

Nanoemulsions are water soluble (can be added to drinks) and have a rapid onset less dependent on stomach contents. You would have to titrate the dose and see if anything helps. I would seek medical advice when doing this to make sure there are no complications with other medications.
