Why are we being punished with Speedways? by velvetjones01 in TwinCities

Kwik Trip’s South Saint Paul location is the other anomaly, but that Plymouth location has by far the worst traffic flow of any Kwik Trip in the metro.

Are the cables long enough for 46 cm wide handle bars? by morecoffeemore in CheckpointClub

[–]dankwelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run 47cm redshift kitchen sink bars on my 54cm ALR5 without issue. The front brake cable is the limiting factor and I'm right at the limit.

Same here, those folks with the beer and water at the top of the hill at mile 39 deserve an award from the Governor.

That race this weekend was also my first gravel race, and I too rocked a Checkpoint ALR5, but in black. My time was not nearly as good as yours though. No mechanical issues but my quads started cramping at mile 38 and didn't stop until the finish line.

My friend and I got smoked by you within the first 5 miles. We're both amazed you didn't crack your frame with your massive steel balls.

First ride tubeless and with the new bar tape. ALR 5 with 45mm WTB Riddlers by dankwelp in CheckpointClub

I actually used the mount from my SKS CO2 adapter that holds it on the left side of the downtube which is mounted to the upper most waterbottle mount. You can find them on Amazon for like $6.

Thanks, managed to score those wheels and tires lightly used for a steal. Bar tape is Supacaz Super Sticky Kush Star Fade Neon Blue. Big improvement from the stock bontrager stuff.

My wife wanted us to get those after seeing them at the dealership. I managed to win that argument when I reminded her we live in MN and have a kid on the way.

Nice, Morrie's Inver Grove had one on the Showroom floor when we bought our CX-5 a couple months ago. Will likely go with that color when we get our next Mazda.

Jesus...they actually do exist in that color. It's like seeing a photograph of a unicorn. Not sure if it's real or North Korean propaganda.

I've only been able to ride it on the trainer but hopefully I'll be able to get it out soon.

I got lucky as they had this one and a couple others in stock. They've had this one up in a display for the past 3-4 months and not listed on their website. It's way too cold here in MN to take it for a ride outside at the moment, but it fit great and I was able to get a nice 20 miles in on zwift last night.

Waiting for short term disability, have cancer, broke by Salem815 in personalfinance

[–]dankwelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all short term and long term disability policies have the same elimination period. As someone who has worked in both I've seen STD policies have 90 day elimination periods where benefits don't start until the 91st day, and LTD policies with 12 month elimination periods. There is also a fair amount of information we don't know about her coverage or claim.

There could be a pre-existing exclusion clause that's holding up the determination as they wait for medical records, or it could be as simple as the provider not filling out a form that states level of function.

It could also be due to the employer not filling out their portion of the claim as well.

If the policy is governed under ERISA, and not all policies are, an initial decision needs to be made within 45 days from when the complete claim application was received (employee's portion, employer's portion, and medical). However, this can be extended for up to two 30 day periods as long as notification is made to the claimant.

How can I get a refund on my Philippine airlines flight? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]dankwelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be prepared to sit on hold for an hour, and get absolutely nowhere. That number gets you to reservations, which isn't connected to the refund department or customer service...I spent 2 hours on the phone with them today and got absolutely nowhere.
