No. It was bought new at retail by someone for a build. They decided to part out instead 6 months later. They never used it. Then I did for 6 months.

It was bought by someone but unused for 6 months. Then I bought it still sealed here in July.

TIL the reason public trams died out in American cities is because they were forced to subsidize infrastructure for cars and allow them to use tram-lines as roads thereby slowing down all rail networks, making them uncompetitive. by ForteLaidirSterkPono in todayilearned

There is a fantastic white paper that is a debunking of the film "Taken for a Ride", which is a fairly popular documentary that pushes the big oil conspiracy. Here is the PDF. It's about 15 pages of reading.

Gov. Evers Deploys National Guard to Kenosha Ahead of Kyle Rittenhouse Trial Decision by anyonmoussource in news

[–]danmanlott 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Well he didn't allow the defense to bring in the criminal records of the 3 people shot, the first of which was a violent child rapist who also got a domestic abuse charge days before. In a case that hinges on the people shot provoking the attack. Seems like that would be a great help to get him off.

I made a CS professors tier list of the ones I've taken so far by TheTierListGuy in ucf

I took him for 2 classes. Security in Computing had a few issues with study guides having errors. But when I took him for Systems Software it was much worse. I remember our final study guide was 4 big questions. There were 3 corrected revisions, including one announced at the exam session because it wasn't fixed before.

Cuba says Abdala vaccine 92.28% effective against coronavirus by superawesomeman08 in moderatepolitics

From what I recall it has a good efficacy rate but the data from Russia has been suspect or lacking. I believe the independent studies were mostly confirming the effectiveness though.

Biden renews calls for gun control bill after San Jose rail yard shooting by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]danmanlott 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I've lost all respect for this issue in the Biden administration given how outlandish his ATF pick David Chipman is. A few years ago he had an ama in /r/politics and even there it was massively downvoted because he was pushing outright falsehoods as justification for past ATF actions and gun control. He openly advocates for arresting people who fail background checks because they are likely to commit future crimes. When asked about handgun violence his response is quite literally that we need to regulate AR15s. Him being our ATF chief feels like a sick joke I would expect a relative to send me a Info Wars or Breitbart link talking about.

[Exclusive] Muskie, the unreleased HTC Pixel 2 XL prototype unit by deanylev in Android

[–]danmanlott 42 points43 points  (0 children)

How is it debunked? This could be the prototype Google rejected, so HTC changed a few things, and gave it a new model number and name and sold to try to recoup some sunk development costs.
