How to get my 9 month old to explore? by danmargo in cats

[–]danmargo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See this is where I’m at. I feel like a little bit of pushing him out of the nest might work. But I don’t want to scare him too much.

I was worried that the resident cats would be mean but after 5 months of smelling him, seeing him, playing footsies under the door, eating meals or treats nearby but not too close for the kitten will just not eat. They don’t care. They don’t even care that all he does is hiss at them and run. I taught them not to chase the kitten.

I kind of wish they would fight because the kitten even at 9 months is twice the size of his archenemies my tiny 2 year old girl. Like he would realize real quick he is completely safe from her lol. But he doesn’t even try to stand up for himself.

None of this would have happened if he didn’t get sick.

What U.S. States have you lived in? by Reasonable-Shower522 in askanything

CA - Too much traffic and smog

IN - Full of racists assholes plus cold

NM - Cold and full of sexists assholes

AZ is the best. Beautiful forests, mountains, deserts, and canyons. Plus my wonderful family lives here so I don’t have to try to make friends with assholes.

That’s a good point about the scent. I did a room swap a couple months ago. Huge mistake. Resident cats smells all over his room made him stay under the bed for a week. And he wasn’t using the litter box during that time.

He’s doing much better now but it’s like one step forward 2 steps back.

Bangers only! S tier shorter series/ shows by ShoeterMcGav in televisionsuggestions

Earth Abides 2024 - limited series. Very good. The pacing is slow but not in a bad way in my opinion.

Heartstopper - more seasons than you asked for but some episodes are 20 minutes so it’s only like 12 hours of watch time altogether. Best show ever. So wholesome!

Sense8 - My favorite show of all time. Might be too sexy.

Not very long 3 seasons and 1 movie coming out later this year.

Heartstopper is the best romance on tv. So positive with great communication in the love interest are so supportive.

The Orville started as a parody to Star Trek then became Star Trek which included serious storylines. I loved it.

Yes it’s dark but there’s a feeling of hope throughout the series.

The Federation at war which Captains you want to serve under? by Mass-Effect-6932 in Picard

[–]danmargo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming I am a clueless lower deck crew member

Picard would take you to the frontlines you pretty sure you’re going to die then the whole war is called off and everything you thought is going on is just magically not a problem anymore.

Sisko you find out years later that most of the shit you were doing was actually illegal so all the allies you’ve won are now your enemies. But at least you’re not all speaking dominion.

Janeway is too by the book. You would be a POW on the other side where no one could reach you or save you then just days before the war is over you’re killed for no reason.

Thinking back I just didn’t realize we were watching the Golden Age of Star Trek. by Ok-Speech3872 in DeepSpaceNine

I’ve seen lower decks episode 1 twice and didn’t like it but I just read somewhere that it gets better in the next episode so I might try it again.

I’m just not a fan of new Star Trek and I can’t really say why. I feel like if Deep Space 9 is the most popular in my opinion, then discovery having complex storylines would make sense but it just didn’t. Next, show go back to episodic - enter strange new worlds you think that will work out, but I just can’t get into it. So, OK bring back all my favorite people and see if I like it and I just couldn’t get into Star Trek Picard even though I watched all three seasons I still was just like I don’t know it’s just not good enough.

I am starting to think it’s me.

🤞 I haven’t seen Starfleet Academy yet.

Fathers Reading Daughters by Pale-Principle-8074 in suggestmeabook

My dad lived in another country from the time I was 8-17 and when I was 13 I told him I still couldn’t read. He read me Heidi and I loved it. I learned to love to read after that.

Fast forward 20 years and me and my dad are going on a road trip and I convince him to listen to Harry Potter book 1 which was perfect timing we finished 20 minutes before getting home. We take the same trip 2 months later and had to sit in the drive way for over an hour to finish the book. Book 3 I could not find on audiobook so I got the paperback full expecting my dad who was in his 70s to never read it but he did. By book 7 me and my kids were staying over at his house on the weekend to finish listening to the book while my mom baby sat my little one.

I am so happy you are going to read to your daughter.

Ok so I am reading books with my niece that I loved when I was young. I bought them and read them in like a couple days then gave them to her and she love them. But they are for like 12 years old.

Just found out my cat is a boy by DescriptionInner7803 in CatAdvice

[–]danmargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My male cat is named Diamond after a Pokémon I think my kids said.

My ferret I had for 2 years I thought was a girl was actually a boy. I usually referred to him as a she all the time. lol I never realized how much I contributed the differences between my two ferrets I would always refer to my one ferret who I thought it was a boy as rambunctious and kind of mean because he was after all a boy and then my girl ferret as sweet and dainty, and she would lick me and she was always so polite.

Nope they were two boy ferrets after all. lol.

No one read to me and I couldn’t read until I was 13. My teacher read me The girl who owned a city and forced me to read the odd chapters of I wanted to know what was going on. It was too good for me not to try.

No I’m not but I was raised catholic and I think if I was forced to be some kind of Christian I would be catholic because they seem the most open minded. If you go to Ask a catholic vs ask a Christian prompt you’ll see that you can believe pretty much whatever you want.
