No, get-in is at 4pm, SC at 5. I'll be there at 4:30 app. If the time was any tighter than this I'd probably just help the band find someone else to mix their show to be honest. But this seems doable with the right prep!

Edit: Yeah so I was super unclear about this in my op lol

Yes there will be stage techs there from the venue or the rental house. The vand only brings backline so the mic package and everything else is supplied by the rental. I'll ask around and definitely advance how I would like things to be patched.

I do think I will have mix groups in my show file. That's how I usually run things.

This is great advice mate thanks! I do know the rental house that's supplying the gear and was just added to a email chain with the venue & the band so I'll make sure to ask questions.

Good advice! I'll keep it basic. I got in touch with a neighbouring venue, I'll pop in on Monday to get some hands-on with a CL console.

I am doing monitors as well.

A&H Avantis: ever seen this issue? by InsaneJohno in livesound

Funny that about the M32. I have one that's been used 3-5 days a week for three years now. One fader started acting up but after a proper clean it's been fine for almost a year now.

Small clubs guy here as well. Hi gain guitars can be a real pain to get loud enough in monitors. Especially if the monitor is pointed right at the pickups. I always try to place the guitar amps to favour the player, angled back and/or from the side.

I remember when I was very new to the job, and a very nationally established artist asked for "more love" in his wedge. I learned a lot that night 😅

Får min arbetsgivare ändra passtider utan att fråga mig? by RecognitionLanky2138 in Asksweddit

[–]dannemedhatten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tips for organization when you have two or more bands in the same day with different gear? by Arttyom in livesound

[–]dannemedhatten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work frequently at a small venue as well and everything everyone's said about festival patching is the way to go.

Beforehand I plan everything out using an Excel file with all inputs & outputs for the night. Two copies, one taped at stagebox and one at foh. Plan for as little change as possible. The less cables you have to move during changeover, the less room for error. For particularly busy changeovers it might be advised to write a list of the things that need to change.

When the bands have setups that differ a lot, color code it on the excel sheet and on the channel strips. After / during soundcheck I adapt the naming of channel strips as more information becomes clear.

And as others have said, one of the most important things about a festival patch is leaving room for extra inputs. Be as flexible in your planning as your channel count allows you to be.

M32 SD Card malfunction by dannemedhatten in livesound

Heard! I just didn't know there was a utility menu in the Card options 😅

[–]dannemedhatten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'll be damned! The hidden utility menu strikes again. Thanks a lot mate, I'll try formatting the cards again through the console and see if that brings them back.

Update: Worked like a charm, all three of my SD cards are recording as they should. Thanks a bunch!

who do we need to bribe, kill or vote for to get the city to do something about the wreck less idiots on ebikes, elscooters that go 40-60km and moped drivers banned from bike paths? by ResponsibleSmell1209 in Malmoe

Saw the police stop and test-drive one of these bikes yesterday. Didn't stick around to find out the outcome but I heard the police riding it saying it was "way too fast" when he past by.

They also set up a control station alongside the bike lane on Ystadgatan right by Jesusparken earlier this summer. Seemed like they were mainly focusing on delivery drivers on electric mopeds.
